Summer 2015 Starters Discussion & Week 3 analysis (Who Do You Start Week 4?)

Hi there!

Ok, so the purpose of this forum is exactly what the title describes, to help people set up their best line up possible heading into the next week of games. We've all experienced a moment where we are choosing between two players, not sure which one will have the better turn-out with regards to their current match-ups, their record, if their on a losing streak, new subs of the team, etc. This can now become a place where the fantasy community can help each other out with their rosters so that they are receiving their full potential each and every week. This can also be a place to discuss possible Add/Drop possibilities. Anyway, everyone can understand the purpose behind this forum now.

Just simply post a question about who you are deciding between, along with your reasonings behind why you should and shouldn't start them. Then hopefully a fellow fantasy community member will be able to respond and help you make your decision. Anyone can help out! Multiple opinions and beliefs are better than just one! Remember, Strength in numbers.

Disclaimer: Human beings cannot foresee the future, everything posted on here are just calculated predictions/opinions.

Hopefully this now provides a means for all of us as a community to help each other in achieving the glorious 1st place spot in your respected leagues, along with the entitled sensation of "Bragging Rights." Best of luck to all of you! #FantasyLCS #DecisionsAreHard

Week 3 Analysis

Before I get into everything, I just want to be the first one to apologize for recommending CW last week to everyone. (That was a really unfortunate week on their end, and it spells doom for the wolves.)

Now! With that out of the way, the first three weeks are in the books, and now we have clearer view of whose ahead of the pack, in the middle of the pack, and in the rear of the pack in both LCS regions. And hopefully, you were all able to formulate a fairly consistent roster coming out of these three weeks.

Now, lets get right into it!

A couple of things:

  1. So i'm well aware that last week I expressed my concerns regarding CLG this split. (And I still believe that they are going to fall off). ... But im not gonna sit here and tell you guys not to start a red hot CLG at the moment. While I still consider them in the honey moon phase, the fact of the matter is pretty much that! They ARE in the honey moon phase. And not to mention that CLG has a very easy week 4 ahead of them (TDK and C9). TDK has officially been given the title "NA Punching Bag" so why not cash in on it. Im about to talk about C9 below!

  2. So last split, C9 was a team would normally not want to face in a fantasy week. Not because they were gonna win necessarily, but because they played so damn passive that there were zero points to be had. But looking back on all of the games C9 lost this past three weeks, Im gonna break down the amount of kills the opposing team had in a win against C9.

  • DIG vs. C9: 16 kills DIG, 4 Kills C9
  • GV vs. C9: 16 kills GV, 6 kills C9
  • TIP vs. C9: 15 kills TIP, 8 kills C9
  • TL Vs. C9: 23 kills TL, 8 kills C9 The fact of the matter is that teams arent having nearly as much as an issue in finding kills against C9 as they did last split. Not to mention that C9 are having a hard time finding kills in their losses, so the KDA is pretty nice in each of these games. So I personally am gonna challenge the notion that C9 games are no longer a drought for kills.

SO! Who are my biggest sleepers heading into week 4?

  1. ROC. While their record says otherwise, ROCCAT have been able to post pretty average numbers on a consistent basis (30+ points). And back in week 2 they had one hell of a week. Now, they are facing EL and "The punching bag of EU" SK. ROC's week has a high possibility of them going off this week. The fact that they have been able to put up some average numbers on a consistent basis in going 2-4 makes me believe they could have one hell of a week this week.

  2. TIP. While they are sitting 3-3, this should be, all things considered, a good week for TIP. Im still not sold on DIG at the moment. While they did have an impressive win over TSM, i'm just not sold quite yet. I think TIP will able to beat both DIG and NME this week. TIP has been putting up pretty average numbers thus far, but they could easily have a 2-0 week this week. We know they are an explosive group, we just need one week to ignite them, and this very well could be that week.

  3. UOL. Yes. Their week 3 sucked. Oh God was it awful. (As to be expected with their schedule). But their week 4 looks way more promising going up against SK and GMB. Both of these teams had very slow starts to the split, and while GMB may have begun to find their footing, Im sure UOL will have no issue in overcoming this GMB squad. (Do I even need to mention the SK game at this point?)

GENERAL NOTE:

As you probably have noticed, I didn't include a chart for week 4. Here is the issue with the chart on a week by week basis. the chart is set up primarily for a draft scenario, and while it may help people see the players all ranked 1-20 in each of the positions, I feel its too general being in the middle of the split. Every match-up is different, and therefore some decisions are are also changed to accommodate certain match-ups. Also, things change depending on whether or not its a 4/6/8 man league. If the chart was helpful last week, let me know and I can easily post an updated version. But Im just worried it may mislead people thats all.

Below is the link to my new fantasy LCS show! Tune in Tuesday at 5:00 PM Central Time, (12:00 a.m CEST), to talk all things fantasy, to answer your questions looking at week 4 and onward, and just to have a great time! :D

ALERT Roccat recently announced that Mr Rallez will be replacing Woolite as the ADC. It hasn't been updated by FLCS yet, but be aware of the change, do not leave Woolite starting this week.

How strong is OG going to be vs FNC? I've got Amazing, xPeke, Niels, Mithy, and the OG team, with Zion Spartan top and Pobelter flexed.

Adryh or Niels at ADC? And IWDominate or Amazing in the jungle?

Also, I have Impact top, but he hasn't been doing well of late. Should I lose faith yet? If I dropped him, it'd be for a Top or a Sup, and the FA are as follows -

Top - Werlyb, Flaresz, Jwaow, Fredy122 and Seraph

Sup - Vander, GodFred, Adrian, Bodydrop, and Smoothie

(My alternates, to sum up, are Adryh, IWD, and Impact)

Thanks for any and all suggestions! Also to those curious, my strategy of camping OG did not pay off this week, as I lost :/

Hello once again Nural,

What aare your opinions about the Fnatic vs Origen game? I have Rekkles and Team Fnatic on my roster but I also have Amazing, Mithy and Soaz. This puts me in a bit of a pickle because I don't want to drop any of them. If i were to drop any of them however, there are still some nice picks out there. Available to pickup are: Vizicsacsi, Hyllisang, KKikis, Apollo Piglet and XWX. Do you think I shuold keep my Oirgen members or do you reckon these free agents are worth the risk? Thanks for reading all of this :)

Your faithful servant, 0verheated

As someone in a four-man draft, it helped me a lot since everyone has really good picks and no one else is really willing to drop their picks for anything else.

Well, the dumb ones aren't ;)

I personally would appreciate the updated list, since I felt it helped very much in my 4 draft scenario, and as well as my 8 draft scenario to some extent. If you could post it, I would really really appreciate it.

Hey, I need some help with my team. Any feedback is appreciated.

My Team:

Alt: YellOwStaR, Impact, Move

Free Agents (in order of points scored in week 3):

Top: CaliTrlolz8, Steve, fredy122, Gamsu, Werlyb, Flaresz, YoungBuck, Vizicsacsi, Jwaow Jung: Trashy, Diamondprox, Meteos, Jankos, Airwaks, kez, Dexter, Helios, Fr3deric Mid: Innox, Nukeduck, Slooshi8, Fox, PepiiNeRO, Shiphtur, Froggen, Soren, Ninja ADC: Otter, Woolite, Nien, Adryh, CoreJJ, CandyPanda, Tabzz, Emperor Supp: LemonNation, Dodo8, Bodydrop, nRated, VandeR, Gosu Pepper, G0DFRED, Unlimited, PromisQ, KiWiKiD, Smoothie Team: GMB, CLG, H2K, CW, ROC, T8, GIA, DIG, GV, NME, SK, UOL, EL, TDK

Opponent's Team:

What I need help with:

Should I keep all my OG guys in the lineup? They're going against FNC this week, and I'm kind of nervous about this matchup. Also, should I pick up the H2K team? They have a very easy week and could possibly score huge numbers.

Any and all feedback is welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Hi Nural.

Attached is my team heading into week 4. Notable free agents are; Top: Steve Jng: Xmithie Mid: Pepiinero, nukeduck Adc: Sneaky, Altec Sup: Hylissang

Im not sure whether to start Hauntzer or Odoamne a BunnyFuFu or Vander

The only reason I'm worried about starting Vander is because woolite is subbed out this week.

Thank you

Hey, I'd appreciate it if someone would help me out with my lineup.

This is my starting lineup: Top: Vizicsacsi Jungle: Xmithie Mid: XWX ADC: Niels Support: YellowStar Alt: PowerofEvil Team: Origen

These are the Alternates: Huni Adryh (Not sure if I should keep him) Helios(If Dig has an easy week maybe I'll use him, but not sure if I should keep him)

This is what's in the free agents (In order of predicted points) Top: Steve, Werlyb, Flarez, Jwaow, Freddy122, Seraph,Calitrolz, Cabochard, Youngbuck,Balls, and Gamsu Jungle: Porpoise8, Fr3deric, Dexter, Airwaks, Svenskeren, Diamondprox, Kez, and Trashy Mid: Nukeduck, Ninja, Innox, Slooshi, Shiphtur, Soren, Fox, and Betsy ADC: MrRallez, Emperor, Tabzz, Freeze, CandyPanda, Forg1ven, CoreJJ, Nien, Otter Sup: Hylissang, Godfred, Adrian, Bodydrop, Smoothie, LemonNation(Only ones I'll be interested in)

This is my oponents team: Top :Quas Jungle : Amazing Mid: Ryu Adc: Rekkles Sup: KaSing Alt: Hjarnan Team: CLG

Alternates: ReignOver Incarnati0n Xpecial

I'm not sure who's going to be the winner of the Fnc vs OG match, but I'm leaning more towards Fnc. Would you suggest I replace Niels with Adryh or grab Rallez? Or is it better to grab one of the ADCs on the free agency (although they don't look very appealing to me). Also I'm not very confident in Xmithie even though CLG is doing great so far and their schedule looks easy. Do you think I should switch him out with Helios? Also for this week I'm confident in XWX, and also PowerofEvil, but for future weeks would you suggest I attempt to trade with someone to get a more consistent mid laner (maybe like Ryu?). Also any other suggestion for my lineup would be great as I might of missed something (Like the teams or other positions). Sorry for all those questions and I'll also answer other questions on the post if I believe I can.

Asgadaf6/17/2015, 2:13:18 AM1 votes

Hi Nural, I have a question regarding mids. I'm currently starting Fox (yeah... so strange) but the other available mids are Pepi, Ninja, Innox, Shiptur and Soren. Do you think Pepi would be better? I know it is strange, but I feel Giants got destroyed by Fnatic and are now facing an improving Gambit and a red hot H2K, while Fox has a very decent week and this could probably be SK's first win. What do you think?

Randomonium6/17/2015, 3:14:02 AM1 votes

My Team Top: Steve Jung: Santorin Mid: Bjergsen ADC: Doublelift Sup: Mithy Flex: MrRallez Team: Team Liquid Bench: Quas, IWDominate, Shiphtur

Opponent’s Team Top: Dyrus Jung: Xmithie Mid: Febiven ADC: Altec Sup: Bunny Fufuu Flex: Freeze Team: Origen

Available Players Adryh, Fenix, Keane, Hauntzer, & pretty much everyone else on Dignitas, Roccat, Giants, Gambit, UOL, Enemy etc.

Starting Decisions While Quas is no doubt a better top laner than Steve (both in ability and fantasy points), TL has probably the hardest matchups of any team this week. Conversely, Roccat has one of the easiest matchups this week and is coming off a fantastic win over Origen. Not really sure where to go with this one.

I'm concerned starting MrRallez as my flex but Roccat has such an easy week I feel like they have set him up for success. Powerofevil and Vardags are not available but Innox or Otter are so those are also viable options.

Match Breakdown Steve will get more points than Dyrus Doublelift will get more points than Altec MrRallez will get more points than Freeze

Santorin will get equal points to Bunny Fufuu Bjergsen will get equal points to Febiven Mithy will get equal points to Xmithie

Team Liquid will get less points than Origen

Based on these matchups I think I should win this week by ~20 points.

My Team

Top: Visi Jung: Amazing Mid: Nukeduck ADC: Niels Supp: Yellowstar Flex: Bjergsen Team: H2K

Alts: Wildturtle, Soaz, Santorin

Enemy Team

Top: Odoamne Jung: Kikis Mid: PoE ADC: Vardags Supp: Vander Flex: Pobelter Team: Fnatic

I noticed someone in my roster dropped Bjerg for a sleeper and i traded him out with xPeke since he is the lowest scoring OG player. I know some of my players have some hard matchups (OG vs FNC and TSM vs Liquid) but I don't want to drop any strong players for some sleepers. Even though I have Yellowstar and some OG players in i think the day 2 matchups will still bring in points no matter who wins that. I can easily see FNC destroying CW and OG destroying EL. While you seem to be expecting UOL to go 2-0 i'm really not sure about the GMB game thats why i have H2K as my team over UOL who is a free agent. H2K just seems stronger right now. I will probably be able to grab my OG players back after this week I don't see anyone in my 4 man league grabbing them before me. What are your thoughts?

Bepis di Bussy6/17/2015, 3:20:05 PM1 votes

Top: Huni Jungle: Rush Mid: Bjergsen ADC: Altec Support: Mithy Flex: MrRallez Team: CLG

Possible Switches: Jankos, IWDominate, Kasing, Xpeke, Adryh, Vander

The spots that i'm contemplating are Jungle, ADC, Support, and Flex. I'm not sure how Fnatic vs Origen will go. Origen kinda dropped the ball last week but from what i heard some of the players were sick so idk. Also wondering how new ADC for Roccat will effect their points even though it's a pretty easy week for them. TSM has also been a little bumpy this split and i'm wondering if Liquid could beat them and possibly pull off another god level points week.

Fast and Greasy6/17/2015, 5:30:12 PM1 votes

Between my ADC and flex position i now have 3 options: Pepiinero, Adryh or MrRallez. I am in a matchup that will probably be quite close.

ScaryPotato6/17/2015, 9:08:52 PM1 votes

Hi again, even though CW was well...awful last week, I still managed to come out with a win thanks to Origen's loss so that was pretty nice. I was wondering if I would be able to get some advice on the team that I have set up for this week as well. My Alts: PowerOfEvil Vardags Santorin

My Opponent's Alts: Impact Kasing Piglet

Thank you to anyone who answers :)

Super G6/18/2015, 12:12:44 PM1 votes

Ryu, Febiven, Wildturtle, and Niels. These are my options for Mid, ADC, and Flex. Which do I choose for each?

Udonian6/15/2015, 9:49:46 PM1 votes

Hey Nural!

Need some help, I'm up against a very, very UoL-heavy team. Specifically I need some help deciding my ADC, Support and Flex pick. I'm not sure how the OG matchup will go down, and I don't know whether I should:

  • Start my OG bot lane and hope for a blood bath b/w FNC and OG, or
  • Play it (sort of) safe and start ROC bot lane b/c of easy week

Bench: Reignover, Mithy, Niels

P.S. I'm in an 8-man, and I might be able to snag WildTurtle for Ryu or Reignover (he badly needs a good jungler or mid and is 0-3).

Edit: I might also be able to trade Woolite + Vander for Aphromoo

LilCiggy6/19/2015, 2:52:58 PM1 votes

Hi Nural! Thanks for doing this every week -- I, for one, found the chart EXTREMELY useful for making weekly roster decisions and during my league's draft. I understand that it's probably tedious updating it every week but it's definitely a serious asset from a decision-making standpoint and would love to see it return next week!
