#Champion Concept Contest! (Week of 7.21.14)
You’ve waited, you’ve prepped and now it’s finally here! Get your crazy creatures, wonderful whimzies, and dastardly doomsayers ready because here we go!
Welcome to the newly updated CB’s first ever Champion Concept Contest! Here you’ll get to enter a champion concept you've made for a stellar (and possibly hand-made) prize! All of the details should be covered below. If you still have any questions don’t hesitate to ask in a comment to this post. :)
#Entrant Details
How to Enter
- Post your champion concept as normal within Community Creations here on the CB or in Fan Creations in vBulletin, I’m not picky.
- Provide a link to said concept in a comment in the official entrant post. Please post the link and the link only to save on comment space.
- Simple as that, you’re entered. There will be no tier system (semi-final, final) in this contest, it will be straight enter --> winner. If you want to include [Contest Entry] or some other kind of tag feel free but it’s not required.
Entry Details
- ONE entry per summoner
- Concept Entry must be NEW, as in posted within this week so as to give everyone an even playing field and a bit of a challenge. Please refrain from entering re-makes, old WIP concepts, or copies, they may be disqualified.
- Concept Entry must be YOURS. If the linked concept’s author and your name are different your entry will be disqualified.
- Entries will be taken from now until I post a “contest closed” thread on (7.28.14). This may be extended depending on number of entries.
- The first 60 entries will be taken. Any posts above that limit will not be entered.
- Entrants can be disqualified based on rude behavior towards other entrants/judges, disregard of the Universal Forum Rules or other major problems.

Grand Prize: A stuffed poro hand-made by myself AND a $10 RP card code AND an entry into Hoffmisc's shiny new Contest Winner Compendium Chapter.
Given out to the overall winner, I may also have additional tiny goodies on top of this depending on various things. Like access to my university's 3D printer…..
Minor Prize: A choice between a stuffed poro OR a $10 RP card code.
Given out to 2-4 runner-ups, depending on number of total entries. 2 for 15 or below entries, 3 for 15-40, 4 for 40-60 entries.
No I am not a professional in any way and you can probably find better stuffed poros elsewhere, but the key difference is you earned these! =D
NOTE: Entrants from outside the U.S. will not receive a stuffed poro, I will not be shipping internationally. An equivalent electronic prize will be sorted out, however, you will get a prize.
#Judging
I and 4 other guest judges will be judging all entries within a range of 1-10 among five different categories. While I cannot speak for how the other judges will judge, here is a brief description of the categories and how I myself will be judging.
Lore
The detailed description behind your champion. Make sure you explain why your champion ended up in the League of Legends somewhere in there. Separate physical description sections are a-ok, but not required.
1 for none or one-sentence lore; 10 if I desperately want a part 2.
Kit
Simply put, the abilities, synergies and gameplay behind your champion. Make sure it’s balanced and make sure it’s fun. Don’t be afraid to ask people for help on the numbers before you enter it in! (Tip: This is my favorite section in concepts)
1 for no kit; 10 for numbers, balance and you make me wish it was in-game.
Originality
This will apply to live champs and live champs only. Don’t copy any abilities or lore straight off of the in-game champs. If you have similarities that’s fine just make sure your champ claims a space all their own. If another contest entry is close to your concept don’t worry that won’t affect this score. (Note: Blatant copies of another concept anywhere will be disqualified)

Extras
This applies to any extraneous ‘bonus’ sections that don’t apply to the above categories. Examples are things like taunts, other VA lines, champion interactions, item interactions, recommended builds. Don’t worry about stuffing your concept full of these, not having any extras will give you a default ‘5’ and scores below that are reserved for things like rude behavior to other contestants and other such things.
1-4 for being an ass; 5 for none or very little; 10 for impressing me with your extra effort
Skin Ideas
Bonus category! This may or may not change to another bonus category in the next contest depending on success and overall awesome skin ideas. Quantity == Quality here, having only one really awesome skin idea or several half-decent ideas isn’t a bad thing!
1 for none or very little; 10 for making me reflexively throw my wallet at my screen.
Feel free to ask any questions about scoring and I’ll answer them best I can. Just keep in mind I can’t speak for exactly how the other 4 judges will judge and I won’t be telling you who they are until the end!
#Results and Distribution
Ideally results should be out the following Wednesday (7.30.14), but I reserve the right to extend this in case any of the judges run into issues of some kind or we get a lot of entries. If this happens I will be sure to put out a post informing you of the delay and the new deadline, we’re only human so be patient!
Prizes will be distributed as fast as possible. For electronic prizes I will message you in-client to send you the RP card code and/or asking you for your desired shipping address. Shipping delays will of course be present. Grand Prize Winner will be able to choose a poro from the bunch if desired.

But I've never made a concept before....
Never fear the Sir is here! I’ve made a Introduction to Champion Concepts post just for you! New conceptors are not only welcome but encouraged to participate! I will be happy to take questions about making a champion concept as well :)
I have a WIP concept...
Feel free to post and work on your concept as much as you want. It's not technically entered until you provide the link to the entries thread. Just make sure you're not the 61st entry!
I don't have a concept, but I want to help!
That. Is. Awesome. The single best way for you to help me, the other judges and the entrants is to give feedback! Negative, positive, just make sure it's constructive and the author can use it effectively if they so choose. In fact if you want some tips on giving feedback to Champion Concepts check out Jaykoboy's awesome How-to guide here.
Can I change my concept after entry?
As encouraging feedback and concept participation is a major motive behind this contest, I encourage iterating on a concept, HOWEVER you have to be able to argue it's still the same champion, no major changes or it will have to count as a new entry with your previous entry being disregarded. Remember: your entry doesn't start until you provide the link here, If you want feedback before entering I advise to simply post normally and provide the link when you feel you're ready. Just be sure to enter before next Monday and before we hit 60 entries!
