The Book of Void: Part 2
My name is Killian. I've had less and less time to translate and work on this rather unsettling book. Sivir and Azir argue daily and I often have to diffuse the situation unless Nasus is there. Thankfully, I've gotten a moment to myself this evening so I'll be working further on this book. Ancient shurimian is extremely lengthy conversely to common so please don't be upset if my entries are short.
#Chapter: The Xer'maw.
In recent times another manner of void creature has appeared. We have given them the name "Xer'maw"
(Killian's note: This means "One of the Mouth. It's a close translation.)
At first we assumed these manner of void beasts could be domesticated. In a way, it's possible that they can be. They're not intelligent and focus more on food. If one were to supply a xer'maw with a steady supply of food, it could possibly be a loyal pet. The issue is that the food supply they consume ranks far higher than any creature of our world. In the span of a single day it had eaten rations fit for about ten people before falling asleep. It isn't necessarily a cruel being, it merely must eat and eat and eat.
Morphology-wise we assume it is one of the void's "cleaners" that devour all the resources of the world or where it is. Killing them is a hassle, however. The internal workings of this creature is actually a volatile, burning acid that becomes incredibly explosive when it makes contact with the air. If one is to kill it, long range weapons are a must. The explosion is dangerous and WILL injure those who try to fight these beasts with a sword. While it's possible to simply sate them with food for a few hours, it's dire that one gets rid of these creatures as soon as they're visible. They can cause great harm to the ecosystem around it from both the voracious appetite and acid spit.
We do not know if these creatures "live" like normal creatures. From what we've gathered, they eat until something kills them, at which point they explode upon death. While not as dangerous as the xer'sai, they come far more frequently and live short but hazardous lives. Unlike the xer'sai, which have built a home in the desert, these creatures seem to primarily exist in the void. They are visitors that must be eradicated. They are distinguished by the light blue or beige skin and four legs.
(Killian's Note: I'm confused by the fact that they talk about the xer'maw. We haven't seen one outside of Kog'maw since...wow, ages. Did they stop coming? Was there something that happened? Maybe the Xer'maw are just a scouting force for this "One Above All" I keep seeing?)
#Chapter: The Xer'zix
A terrifying new creature has found it's way into Runeterra. Based on the small reports and corpses we've found, they will be named the Xer'zix.
(Killian's Note: "One of the Hunt")
They are fast, vicious and brutal. We have yet to kill one or see a living one. Rather, we've found terrified witnesses who speak of something "moving in the shadows" before they claim it killed whatever they saw, be it beast or man. Investigating the corpses, we've found no two xer'zix are quite alike. While they all possess bipedal forms and massive claws, the morphology varies among the entire species. Some of these creatures have had claws twice as large as the others of the species while others have enormous wings that could be used for gliding. As we have only found dead ones, the pattern of their being is unknown.
One thing that is clear is that we've found that the creatures are solitary. In fact, they have been seen fighting among each other. According to an eye-witness account, two xer'zix were found hissing at each other and slowly strafing around each other. What the witness assumed was a mating dance suddenly became violent as they leaped upon one another. Blood stained the ground as they clawed and bit one another. Finally, one caught the others neck in it's teeth and bit down, killing it's own kind. It then began to feast upon the fallen foe, consuming it for nourishment. Why would they fight each other?
(Killian's Note: This sounds very much like Kha'zix. But we've only seen Kha'zix. I have NEVER heard of more than one xer'zix in my entire life. However old this book is, there were once several xer'zix that roamed the land. More importantly, what was...how...I'm at a loss for words. What could have stopped this large-scale influx?)
#Chapter: History, Part Two.
We have grown increasingly worried with the influx of void beasts, the numbers swelling over time. It has been ages but we have decided to return to the void-beast we let live among the sand. Time has changed the being: When "she" was once a violet scarab-like beast, the carapce has dulled to a brown-gold similar to the desert sand. She was difficult to find, having made her home deeper in the desert. As she has not caused problems, we have left her to her devices. We asked what we should call her as she does not have a "name". She asked to be referred to as "Yaga-yaga".
(Killian's Note: That's a weird translation, I haven't been able to find that word in shurimian text. The closest I could find is "yaguaga", which is an incredibly old word for sandstorm. I'm guessing she wished to be called something along the lines of "Sand storm", unless this is a void word.)
We have asked her what the purpose of the void beings arrival means. What she said is as follows: "They are investigating your world. These are the beginnings of his arrival. He is inspecting your world to make sure it is not as the time before."
Perplexed, we asked what the time before was.
"The One Above All has come to your world before. He was driven back. Your world is the first time he has lost a conquest. Among the trillions of realities that he has fought and succeeded, your world is the anomaly." We had planned on asking more about when this event was but we were called back to deal with a new void beast that has surfaced near the jungles. There will be someone sent at a later date to speak with this creature and investigate what it knows about this time where that dangerous threat lost.
Whatever happened is far before any of us.
(Killian's Note: I just...this is starting to make no sense. How old is this book? I don't seen them referring to any nation or place that I know of on the world map. The jungle, the desert...this is all nameless. It doesn't help that this information on these other subgroups of void-beings conflict with what we know. Xer'maw and Xer'zix? I've never heard of these sub-groups. Only the Xer'sai are around. I'm- I have to leave, Azir needs my assistance. If this book ends up being a sick joke I'm going to be furious.)
