[Champion Concept] Liandry, the Tormented Queen

Liandry is the 3rd champion concept I introduced in The Dawn of the Shadow Isles. She is the wife of Midas and they have a daughter Zhonya. Read the lore for more information.

Liandry's kit revolves around how horrible she is. I'll let you read my story to find out why she's such a terrible person. She is a powerful mid-lane mage who torments her foes.

Passive: Haunting Guise

  • Liandry's beauty disarms her foes, reducing nearby enemy champions' AD and AP by 5%.

Q: Blood Sacrifice

  • Liandry deals X true damage to any minion or monster, healing herself and gaining bonus AP for a short period. If the target dies from this spell, Liandry permanently gains (0.1/0.15/0.2/0.25/0.3)% magic penetration.

W: Ceaseless Assault (skill-shot)

  • Liandry hurls vicious insults at enemies. These take physical form since they are so potent. There is no cooldown on Ceaseless Assault, but each insult increases the mana cost for 15 seconds (similar to Kassadin's Riftwalk).
  • Every insult that hits its target grants Liandry 10 movement speed for (3/4/5/6/7) seconds.

E: Leaching Pool

  • Liandry places a small pool of cursed water that grows as long as an enemy is on it. Enemies on the pool take magic damage per second and Liandry steals (1/1.5/2/2.5/3)% of their armor and magic resist per second.
  • Leaching Pool has an initial mana price and then costs mana per second. Liandry can cancel it by hitting e again.

R: Unmasked Fury

  • Liandry removes her mask. Nearby enemies who are facing her flee in terror for (1/1.5/2) seconds. For (15/20/25) seconds, Liandry gains bonus spell vamp and mana regeneration. She then replaces her mask, charming any enemy who is facing her (similar to Ahri's charm, enemies walk slowly toward Liandry).

Additional Notes:

  • Liandry is a very powerful but mana-intensive mage. Players would be wise to invest in mana and mana regeneration items like Archangel's staff and Rod of Ages.

  • Standing still to fight Liandry is a bad choice. High mobility bursty champions like Ziggs or Akali are Liandry's counter.

  • If you liked Liandry, check out some of my other Champion Concepts here.

Let me know what you think of Liandry in the comments. Constructive feedback is appreciated as always. :D

Really cool concept (I especially like the ult). I'd play Liandry! item 3151

A few thoughts

  • Riot really doesn't like Auras
  • Infinite stacking skills tend to be problematic. I like the idea of a damage+flat heal skill though for her Q.
  • For her W, I don't think throwing insults would work. Also the movement speed should increase by leveling that skill, not duration.
  • I don't get her E. I understand the mechanics, but I don't get the concept. Read a story isn't going to work for a champ. You should be able to look at him and understand it. I'm also not sure if a better version of Anivia's ult should be placed in a non-ult slot.
  • The bonus on the ult lasts way too long. 8 seconds should be more than enough. And the fear followed by charm effect is just plain weird.

Overall I think that this kit as a lot of everything and no strong focus (haven't read your story). They don't mesh well. I mean how does her W support to play out? That's an assassin type skill but I don't see her as an assassin. I also think that as is, this would be a better support than an AP mid. Particularly in the current meta.

Her passive is terrible by design since there isn't any counterplay to it other than stay away, or kill her quickly which you would to do anyways. Blood sacrifice is extremely OP. At 300 minion kills (typical match) she would have 100% magic penetration. Leeching Pool doesn't synergize with her kit. Ideally you would enemies to stand on it as long as possible. However, since her main form of damage also gives her movespeed, I have a feeling your going for a micro heavy champion which means your opponent will be moving around alot as well. Finally, her E is also negated your ulti in that you are literally charming them away or forward off the pool. It also has more percent penetration for some reason.

I'll go over the whole thing

Passive:

It's a good idea however that is a lot of hidden power and is extremely strong and weak at the same time due to it. It would probably be better to have it be something like "liandry's beauty is so great enemies can hardly bear to hurt her. She takes 5% reduced damage from enemy champions"

Q: Blood sacrifice

The first part is fine as is and is an interesting idea. However the second part is way too powerful (just like how nasus doesn't stack ad because that would be too strong). Instead the second part should be "If the target of this spell dies, she also gains 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% magic penetration for the next 10 seconds. This could also potentially replace her passive.

W: Ceaseless Chatter ... I mean assault

The second part is fine. The first part could be more interesting I think.

Liandry hurls vicious insults at enemies. These take physical form since they are so potent. There is .5/.4/.3/.2/.1 cooldown on Ceaseless Assault, but each insult increases the mana cost for 15 seconds (similar to Kassadin's Riftwalk). Each hit deals 40/55/80/115/150 (+40% Ability Power). Each hit add's a stack of assault to the enemy (max 10) for 5 secs, each stack causes the enemy to take 40/55/80/115/150 (+40% Ability Power) more each hit. (numbers are just there to show the idea of it.)

E: Leaching Pool

It's and interesting Idea. Of course it'd have a maximum grow size that it'd eventually reach and a maximum resistance drain (prob 5/7.5/10/12.5/15%) as well.

** R: Unmasked Fury**

Might be a little overpowered maybe increased magic penetration and AP instead. Also it should remove her passive for the duration.

Sounds great! Just make sure she synergizes well with magic penetration.

So... when are Athene and Atma coming out?

That w is great. Love it. Have you ever played guilty gear? Not very enthusiastic about the rest though. Mostly it seems like you add Extra effects wherever you can, don't really think about skill synergy and none of the abilities flow together. Still. I'd play just to insult people to death.

I think the E is a really neat zone control mechanic that I feel should appear in future kits: the ability for a Zone control mage to gain more zone control over time.

Provided the cost was high enough, I think it really should boil down to a perfect situation of I either kill the zone control mage in order to stay or I leave the zone in order to waste their resources.

Seems Ulti level however
