[Champion Concept] Chandelle, Valoran's Vigil

I was thinking about Brand and Annie and how destructive they are with their fire-based abilities. I wanted to come up with a champ that uses the good side of fire to support her allies instead of blowing up her enemies. Although Chandelle evolved into a slightly more malevolent force than I was hoping, her kit basically revolves around helping her allies rather than hurting her foes.

Chandelle is a support champ with abilities based on candles. It might sound lame at first, but I think I've come up with some pretty cool ways to include candles in her kit. Appearance-wise, she's humanoid, with a slightly waxy appearance.

Passive: Spread the Light

  • Chandelle and her allies have 10% increased vision radius

Q: Candle Light

  • Chandelle stores a candle every 45/40/35/30/25 seconds and can place one on the map every 25/20/15/10/5 seconds. Candles illuminate a small area, similar to a ward. Candles melt over time, lasting 20/30/40/50/60 seconds.

  • Maximum 10 Candles on the map at any time.

  • A single attack from an enemy will snuff these candles (which stop melting), but they are not destroyed. If Chandelle comes near them, they are re-lit. Candles in Chandelle's immediate vicinity may not be snuffed.

W: Flare

  • At a mana cost per candle, all of Chandelle's existing lit candles flare up, dealing AOE magic damage in a small area. Flare reduces the duration of existing candles by 5/6/7/8/9 seconds.

E: Liquefy/Harden

  • Chandelle targets an area. All candles in the area liquefy into a pool of wax, slowing enemies and dealing low magic dps per second, based on how many candles were in the targeted area.

  • The pool of wax slowly hardens, increasing the slow effect. Any enemies in the wax are briefly snared at the end of the cooling period. Alternately, Chandelle can reactivate the ability to instantly harden the pool of wax, forfeiting the magic dps.

R: Shadow Cast

  • This ultimate depends on having an allied champion around, thus cementing Chandelle as a support champ rather than mid APC.

  • Chandelle blows on one of her candles. In a cone behind it, her allies' shadows come to life, with their size (and health) being based on the champion's proximity to the candle. Allies close to the candle spawn a larger shadow than allies far away from the candle. Shadows attack any nearby enemies or structures with basic attacks, no on-hit effects, and last 10/20/30 seconds.

What prevents me from stacking 10 candles in a brush, and using Flare as soon as an enemy walks into the brush?

Could be a potential problem, or hilarious, perhaps both.

I have some questions/comments.

  1. What, if any, parts of her Q are effected by CDR?
  2. Does her passive apply to allied wards?
  3. Her ultimate probably needs some numbers attached to it. The thought of having 5 allies + 4 Shadows seems frightening on paper. (Perhaps a maximum amount of shadows / their stats scale off Chandelle's AP?)
  4. If Chandelle is out of candles or cannot place one it seems as though she becomes nearly useless outside her autoattacks. Any enemy could easily avoid her candles.
  5. I think Chandelle should be similar to Karma (in regards to character design).
  6. Her candles should probably have a much smaller vision radius than wards. On paper, tons of free wards does not sound okay for play.

To summarize, I really like the idea. Just need to work out the kinks and numbers.

i feel that her Q puts wards out for to long and has such a small cooldown while to actually get the candles to long it self but i also havent tried to help people before so this might just be useless soo yea.
