Hi all,

I've been working on this Lore (Titled The Dawn of the Shadow Isles) for the past week or so, and it introduced some cool new Champion Concepts. Zhonya is the second of 4 champions introduced in the story.

Zhonya is Midas and Liandry's daughter. Read the lore for a more in-depth look at their relationships. Zhonya's kit revolves around her electric whip (again read the lore to find out where that came from). I'll admit, her weapon was partly inspired by this guy:

Passive: Vengeance

  • Any enemy who damages Zhonya is marked for 20 seconds, and they take bonus effects from her spells until the mark wears off. The mark is not consumed by her spells, it just stays on its target for a set period.
  • Enemies who kill Zhonya are permanently marked for Vengeance until they die.

Q: Snap

  • Zhonya throws her whip, dealing physical damage to the first enemy hit and pulling herself toward them. (Similar to Nautilus's anchor, Zhonya gets pulled partway to the target.) If the whip does not actually hit anyone, it snaps in the air, dealing a small AOE magic damage.
  • Vengeance Effect: any marked enemy is slowed by Snap's damage, either the physical damage or the magic damage.

W: Thunderclap

  • Zhonya snaps her whip over her head with a thunderous crack, dealing heavy AOE magic damage in a small area. This is a targeted ability, not necessarily centered on Zhonya (i.e. she targets a certain area close to her).
  • Vengeance Effect: marked enemies in the affected area are feared and run away from Zhonya.

E: High Voltage (Toggle)

  • Zhonya steps up the voltage on her whip. Basic attacks now cost mana but deal bonus magic damage to the target.
  • Vengeance Effect: basic attacks on marked enemies (while High Voltage is toggled on) arc to up to (1/1/2/2/3) other enemies, dealing the bonus magic damage to them (but no physical damage).

R: The Gathering Storm

  • Zhonya slows as she channels a massive electrical storm. The longer she channels (up to a maximum), the larger and more intense the storm becomes. This channel can be interrupted, but the storm is released as soon as she stops channeling.
  • Vengeance Effect: marked enemies take increased damage from the storm.

Additional Notes:

  • Zhonya is intended as a ranged melee assassin (if that makes any sense? Think Thresh for the ranged melee part). So she's technically melee and would not benefit from building Runaan's.
  • She benefits from building attack speed, AP, and CDR.

What do you think of Zhonya? Let me know in the comments. Feedback is awesome.
