Regarding Incarnati0n's "Perma-ban"

As well documented in this thread: C9 has somehow found a way to get "Darth Vader" on their team to play thus making them "The Forces of Darkness". Indeed now NA LCS play has a dynamic between "Noble and Honorable Teams" versus the "Subversive Traitors Teams" that should be interesting to watch. For all the reasons people hated TSM: Now you have a legitimate reason to "hate C9" and even Riot for that matter.

I've been doing a bit of digging into this lately, and think I've got a more complete story. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in the details.

  • Incarnati0n was given a lifetime ban for DDOSing, verbal abuse, etc. while being on a high profile team (I believe they were in the LCS at the time).
  • About a year after the lifetime ban was given to him (and another player), Riot reconsidered the concept of a lifetime ban. They concluded that it was better to encourage a player to reform than to have them perpetually play the game on the run. They lifted the lifetime ban, but required Incarnati0n (and others) to go through a behavior review process before they'd be allowed back into the LCS.
  • Incarnation applied several times to get back in, and was denied each time because his improvement was found lacking.
  • March 31, 2015, the review process found he'd improved enough to be accepted back into an LCS team.
  • After going through tryouts with Cloud 9, they decided to accept him onto their team.

I'm certain everyone will be wary, wanting to make sure Incarnati0n has really changed, but Riot has given him their blessing to continue playing and, now, to play in the LCS again. I'm personally of the impression that C9 will drop him like a hot potato if he steps out of line.
