but him benching himself just shows how big the meta changes were. Like bruh, I don't get that vibe when Fnatic beated Misfits in the rematches because rekkles, the star adc wasn't their to celebrate. So far this "diversity" in bot lane just isn't helping the esports players.

yeah, he CHOSE because there was no better option for the team he just doesn't feel comfortable playing champions that are taking over his role. Many fans are upset about this change.

Fan are upset about countless things and have either ragged or coped to the changes based upon the team's following successes or failures.
They were up in arms when Faker got benched for Pirean and somehow STILL ARE when they need top 5 in order to even make Worlds!
They're up in arms with Cloud9's experimental roster moves that could only be akin to that of other LPL teams that do the same thing. They took risks and are in no better of a situation than SKT in regards to the hella regional parity going on, but what the hey?
So 10 games of Bwipo and that's what wants you to revert the change? You don't see Ruler or Hans Sama trying to adapt along with a good small few bot lane players. But then in that case, what are you: a good marksman player or a good player all around? This just wraps back around to how one-trick the bot lane role really is and whose truly getting weeded out for it. Bout damn time imo. Tired of seeing "Oh gods you're the best player in the world" when you only use like 5 champions if lucky.

Even though I don't play adc I have played a little. Marksmen are incredibly diverse in playstyles. You have average marksman like 
But there are incredibly unique ones like
who heavily reward positioning and 
who requires smart laning phase so you don't get punished for catching an axe. Champions like 
and
requires precision aiming
and requires intelligent trap placements.

Diverse: obviously. Most champs are diverse! It's still marksmen anyway which in competitive has always been a fighting game esque tier list for that role in what to play and what not to play. For once since season 1 it's different and it's magically changing up playstyles and actually utilizing rosters beyond a starting 5.
This isn't a discussion about marksman champ tiers or what makes em good or not. I hardly care about that stuff anyway because I feel that any champion can be viable in any lane within reason. And it's shown. And it's allowed teams to branch now more than ever. Why ever would you want things to go back to a more stagnant point over a single game - over a single team - over a single damn player?
I've said it in a past comment: adapt or die (contextually speaking). Through its frequent changes yearly, this is what this game is.
