If the first matchup of the split is indicative of anything...

...then this is going to be a really good and competitive split.

The moves by Echo Fox to hire a bunch of former pros for their Academy team and limit scrimming to only their Academy team already adds to the interest of the split. This experiment, if successful, would change the way teams operate and could push the LCS to the next level of competition.

But, that being said, I have a recommendation for the LCS. They should move away from the simple Win-Loss scoring of the matchups, and actually score the matchups. I think that would provide a clearer picture as to who performing it would eliminate the 3 and 4 way ties we saw for multiple weeks last split. A simple system would look like this; every matchup is a Bo3, so score 1 point per win in the match, and when a 2-0 sweep happens reward the winning team all 3 points.
