For the first time since Season 1, Korea will not make it to the semifinals.
C9 just beat Afreeca Freecs 3-0, meaning that Korea won’t make it to the semifinals, and someone else than Korea will win the championship!

I'm pretty sure China won last year [sg-ezreal]
Nope. It was Korea.
Oh. I missed most of last worlds. All the regions aside from NA and EU blend together.
europe season 1 fnatic: europe vicotry but it was just na vs eu (no korean or china) taiwan season 2 teipei assasin: taiwan win worlds in biggest upset and underdog story in esports ever korea season 3 skt: start of faker's career korea season 4 samsung white: skt not at world korea season 5 skt: faker win second world korea season 6 skt: faker win third world korea season 7 samsung galaxy: combination of samsung white (see season 4 champion) and samsung blue na season 8 c9: first time korea doesnt win world since they started their win streak
europe won when world wasnt really a "world" tournament china and na never won a world tournament
if you exclude season 1, taiwan is the only region that won exept korea [sg-ahri-2]
korea season 7 samsung galaxy: combination of samsung white (see season 4 champion) and samsung blue
Ugh, what? While the sponsor was the same, the team was entirely different, none of the players were ever a part of either White or Blue.

well, is the team the player or the sponsor/name i think fnatic is still fnatic even if every player changed over the years
When we speak of traditional sports then sure, it's the team's name, mainly because no team would swap the entire line-up in the span of one season. But when it comes to e-sport it's entirely different. 2015 Samsung was hot garbage, a bunch of 1st time rookies and they kept changing their roster in the next 2 years. Besides in your comment, you made it sound like samsung that won worlds last year was a combination of players that won worlds in 2014, which is wrong.
