To be fair, almost every other team has failed to play around their Darius pick.
Darius is almost always first-picked except when someone else is more valuable as first pick (eg. Mordekaiser). Then teams don't build their comp around Darius.
Then they get into game and watch the other team try really hard to shut down the Darius pick before he can even possibly get rolling.
C9 plays the Darius pick not as if Darius is a big threat, but instead that Sneaky's Tristana and Incarnation's Azir or Veigar are the big threats and the enemy team has to get through the Darius in order to get to C9's back line. They play around the Darius pick in a way that other teams don't.
Poor Monte. Every prediction besides his SKT predictions have been wrong.
the analyst said it best. the threats are the mid laner azir and the adc tristana. Fnatic had to get a wombo combo on those two in order to win. they have to engage on them. Darius just needs to stay in the back and peel. Darius's weakness is that people can easily kite him. they aren't kitting him when they are engaging on him.
