"I did illegal things and got evicted from my apartment..."

"I spent thousands of dollars every month paying rent for that apartment, are you (landlord) going to refund all my money?"

That's basically what you're asking when you ask for refunds after being permanently banned. Now, if you aren't completely oblivious you realize how ridiculous it sounds to everyone else when you post topics like that.

This is an improper analogy, because you are required to pay mortgage/rent at the end of a month as a living expense, where as you are not required to pay anything at all in order to play LoL. Your 'Landlord' case would be much more comparable to games like World of Warcraft where you have to keep on paying if you want to keep on playing, but it's not comparable in this case.

How about this as an analogy. You buy a lifetime membership for a gym or perhaps a lifetime pass for an amusement park. You then go and break their rules. They ban you. You're not getting any of that money back because you failed to follow their rules for using their facilities.

Someone finally said it in words I could not find for ages. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Still though the premise is all the same no matter how you look at it. You break the rules you suffer the consequences. It's as simple as that! But people want to throw every excuse and how it's never their fault. People just need to grow up and take responsibility for their actions.

While I agree with the statement, it's a poor comparison. A better one would be: "can I get back the paint I spent on your walls and my inbuilt closet?"

These are things that you bought yourself but are strictly tied to the thing that you 'rented' because you can't just take it out of there, just like you can't get skins out of your account. Refund on rent would be like a refund on a monthly subscription fee.

Btw, you do not own any of the skins you purchase. (If you read the TOS)

As per the TOS Riot lets you borrow one of their accounts, the account is not yours, and nothing on it is yours, Riot reserves the right to revoke access at any time, with or without reason.

I mean... no that's not even remotely the same but if it makes you feel good about yourself more power to ya

Then there's the small group of people who try to change for the better after a permanent ban, only to find that it's MORE work than just breaking the rules, with not much actual reward until an obscene amount of effort is put in. People like this are gladly welcomed back by Riot, as I was essentially told exactly that in my conversation with one of the Player Behavior staff members.

Compare that to someone who doesn't want to, or doesn't care enough to, change, who just makes a new account and harasses new players, buys a new level 30 account, or just says "screw Riot" and leaves. Guess what, that person 'wins' with minimal effort no matter what they do.

In the real world, evading the rules to get what you want lands you in jail. In League, you can literally just keep right on doing it until you get bored of it and leave.

I've said this a few times in various threads, but it just really bothers me.

I think riot does a pretty poor job of banning people when they do nothing wrong other than use offensive language. But they cater to their base, which are helpless liberal weaboo nerds who are young and probably never had a job in their life. These type of people have been proven to spend more money for perceived social justice.

I support banning people who ruin games via intentional feeding, but offensive chat is completely subjective, not objective. Banning people because they use word X y or Z on the basis it is "offensive" is not the right control method. I for one, do not like snarky people in my games, passive aggressive people, or hell, people not the same skin color as me. That does not mean the mute option does not exist, nor does it make me a bad person in the eyes of law (because, anyone who has attended jury duty will know there are no right or wrong answers in court).

and for reference, I do not have an attitude problem, nor do I get reported (to anyone even reading this garbage).[slayer-jinx-catface]

Another one I see sometimes:

"Riot doesn't give enough time to reform"

They don't have to. They give you 1 or 2 warnings before they perma-ban you for treating other players like trash. If you choose to ignore those because you have trauma in your life (ie your Dad died, your mother has cancer, you're struggling with addiction, or your girlfriend cheated on you) it still doesn't mean everyone else should be forced to play with you until you feel reformed. Using trauma as an excuse to keep treating others like trash is a joke and nobody should have to wait for what you think is "the proper time to reform." Either you take Riot's warnings seriously or you get to make a new account and start over.

It's like that in the work force. If you have serious trauma in your life and you start to treat your co-workers like trash, your boss will bring you in his office. He'll offer He should offer you counseling and a warning to leave your personal life at home. Your boss gets it that you might not realize how you're treating others. So you're off with a warning at this point. However, nobody at your work place should be treated like trash and deal with it until you feel deemed "reformed." Eventually your boss will bring you in his office and wish you luck in your next job. He doesn't want to say that. No boss does. They know what you're going through. But he has to send you off because everyone else doesn't have to suffer because of you.

TL/DR: Nobody here in League should have to suffer because your are experiencing trauma in life. If you get a warning, take it and leave your anger at home.
