I'd honestly rather play with potty-mouths that actually try.

Than the people who do things mechanically to literally ruin the game. You can mute an annoying toxic who keeps complaining, you can't do anything against someone who intentionally ruins your games because they want to be selfish.

Game a few days ago. Mid feeds 0/7/0. Freaks out and says the whole GG thing, surrenders. We tell him no, other lanes are ahead and we're fine, we've even won two team fights. "Yeah but I keep dying in them and am not doing anything im useless and not having fun just surrender and let me go to another game." After refusing to surrender he decides to tell us "Well if you're not gonna let me leave I'm just gonna feed them more so we lose faster so I can get this over with." ** Which he follows through with. Fast forward to today, he's still playing. ** _Go to yesterday: _ Our top says he has some lag, we tell him just play safe then and try not to engage too much. "Nah, I can't play like this have fun guys." AFK's before level 2, he's the only tank on our team, and it tilts our JG who now has to take over top with a machete, we get stomped. EVERYONE on our team and enemy team says they're going to report him because the game was such a boring steamroll. **Again, dude is still playing. **

The only way I can view this kind of behavior/punishment system is the kid in class says a curse word so he gets a weeks worth of detention. The bully beating the **** out of kids in between periods goes un-punished, because a teacher doesn't actually see it happen and are too lazy to investigate.

I'd rather be in a class with a kid who's annoying than be afraid to go outside of class because I'm afraid of the bully who's going to beat the **** out of me.

"If muting or ignoring a player doesn't stop the negative experience, please use the reporting feature." Im pretty sure muting someone that plays well but flames you does stop the "negative expierience" lel

Do you know how you happen to get those type of people in your game? Someone flamed the hell out of them, making them angry to the point they are throwing your game.

IF you like to play with "flamers", you will often get the above type of players in your games. Sure, maybe not that extreme, but. Flaming usually lowers your team morale, as well as creating a negative environment where everyone could at any point start blaming each other for everything. Once more, playing with flamers (in duo and trios) will only most likely ensure that you will have players who mechanically ruin your games.

Yes, first example is pretty good. Behaviour like that should be punished way more harshly. There was an example of player who trolled A LOT (at least 30, possible a lot more) of games, and didn't get ban.

About second game in the end he was simply afk, so he would hardly get any punishment, because you need to quit a lot of games, and even then it's only low priority queue, where you have wait a bit before starting game search. Hardly a punishment if you ask me.

I agree, sometimes ruffling peoples feathers is the only way they understand shit.

The thread title is why I don't get reported. (except I don't speak colorfully enough to get muted)

And I would prefer to have the bad player who isn't an asshole.

sorry but I disagree I can handle a loss its life, but I don't really want to feel like sh*t while playing.

Not many people would disagree with this. It is a useless sentiment and a false dichotomy, though. You do not ever get to choose. If you got to choose you would choose the nice guy who is also good. Being nice/toxic doesn't have any impact on how good you are at the game.

this is a fallacy you assume that it's either or. Either they are this or they are that. When in actuality the "potty mouths" are cut from the same tree the same tree as the trolls are and might actually be one of the factors that create people who troll to just ruin the game. Sure you can mute somone who just rages all the time but he'll usually have already ruined your mood to play the game where at least with a troll who takes away all chance of winning at least with him you can resign yourself to your fate and mess around a bit yourself.

I think if rito would get enough common sense to punish the type of player in your examples, then they would see an actual improvement in their "toxicity" problem. Because lord forbid one of your teammates told them to stop trolling, BAM! Reported and punished. I wonder how long it's going to take them to realize that their current method of ignoring the causes simply doesn't work. Been about 2.5 seasons thus far.

I completely agree. This problem is also exacerbated by how often it happens. 5 game promotion series are almost impossible for me because I am guaranteed to run into at least one of these intentional feeders in one of my 5 games.

It took me 6 tries to get into Platinum V. I spent more time hovering at 90 LP in Gold I than the time I took to climb from Silver III to Gold I. I should have won my promos on the first try, but of course I played with a Graves ADC who insists on engaging team fights by themselves. In my second series, I had a Malphite who kept flaming everyone on my team for "poor" plays. However, he is the sole reason we didn't win the game at 20 minutes. Every time someone makes a misplay, he would engage 1 v 5 just to show how "stupid" we were.

Just on my most recent series, I had a fed Shvyana who overestimated her ability and engaged on every fight by herself instead of letting the actual tanks do it. The Shvyana was on Platinum promos as well, and she blamed her team for losing that game.

Frankly I have no idea how these people even function in real life. I've been playing a lot of Shen lately just so I can prevent these players from killing themselves and flaming their teams for their deaths. As far as I know, all of these players who intentionally fed are still playing. Riot does almost nothing to stop them. Even in high Gold/low Plat, the chances of being matched with the same players again are quite high outside of peak times on Fridays and weekends. At this point I just save all the names of players who are prone to intentionally feed in a text file so I can dodge if I get matched with them again.

Bad thread, bad argument.

What about the people that claim they're giving their 110%, but they don't assist you in ganks (regardless of if they are within 5 feet of you), refuse to peel for you (regardless of your role / or their role), and the guys that literally (not metaphorically) wait until you have died before they will deal or attempt to deal a single amount of damage to the enemy team?

I agree with the poster. There should be EXTREMELY strict requirements for matchmaking. If you have a K/D/A below a threshold, you should be forced to only play NORMS, not ranked. You should be forced to have a high mastery with a champ, like 100k or more. and have played more than a certain NUMBER of WON games in norms or a ratio there as well. People "throw" because "its just a game". I played a ranked game the other on curse and 3/5 people were not even trying to stay alive, had 0 interest in pushing, were stoned, another was drunk.

Simply not fair. . .

I think people that could meet said requirements would be more interested in playing RANKED as a serious game. Dont get me wrong, I love playing ADC lux in norms, ADCrit sona in norms, but I dont do those things in ranked.

. . . . .

I carried teams all the time, but enjoyed a permanent ban for using harsh language to defend my teammates who were verbally attacked. This game will become anemic because true competitors will leave, Player Behavior will forever become an example of a waste of resources and a repellent of a healthy player base. Hey, at least when you lose your game will be filled with good job! and nice try! :) :) :)
