Can anyone at Riot pay the pro-players to play & dominate as Zed in competitive?

Y'know, so that Riot can already see Zed's strength & nerf him for once to give us Mage mains an easier time laning against him.

Or maybe, just maybe, he isn't being played because the character is not as good as you think he is?

Ill let you in on a little trick that I use when I have trouble playing a champion.

So in my experience when most people have trouble with a champion they usually have little experience or knowledge about what a champ really does. The best way to overcome this is to learn the champ yourself. I had a huge problem laying against Zoe and Kat so I spammed both of them until I had a better understanding of their kits, limitations, and windows of power. Now I still don't like playing against them and am still not good at them but I know how to beat them and no longer have a problem facing them. Coincidentally I play a ton of Zed but I seem to never have a problem playing against him even in matchups that are heavily in his favor unless the Zed is really that much better than me(sometimes this happens btw, it IS possible that you just got beat). This is because I know how he works and what to do against him.

In conclusion if you really have that hard of a time vs Zed that you think he is that op try playing him for about 20 games. Not in blind pick, play him in games that people actually try in. I can guarantee you that after doing that you will have much better success against him. You may still hate going against him but hating a champ can be independent to their power level.
