Lux does very well in some of the lower elos and is very similar to Morgana. Yet Lux doesn't get any stage time in Pro leagues. Why is this? I'm sure its because she has some weakness in the pro environment, but I can't notice it.
She doesn't see pro play because she is not broken.
Because a majority of the good LCS picks right now have gap closers, like urgot, Lucian, Ezreal, and more. They can all dodge a lux Q and especially a Lux ult. Plus she has no escapes, so if she gets caught out she's dead meat. Not to mention she just has a ton of counters that are seeing pro play.
Because at pro play where people are actually good, a champion utterly reliant on skill shots isn’t gonna be that amazing when people can properly dodge.
Because Riot went full DUDE EBIN ONE SHOTS!!! on her and put tons of power into her ult CD. She's designed to be played by Irons. If they did anything else like make her Q better or W less mana intensive she might be more viable.
Low elo = pro? Is this OP even serious right now?
She is all skill shots, is frail, and has virtually no out if someone tries to dunk her.
God, i hope she never sees pro Play. She is fine as she is now, in a good state. Has her strengths, has her weaknesses, but once a champ gets constanty used in pro Play, you can bet on it every idiot Plays it and get nerfed eventually.
For the why, yeah, skillshots only, dodgeable.
She just doesn't do enough. Or rather, other characters provide more utility than she does. Morg gets the nod over Lux because her Black Shield is just that much more impactful and powerful than Lux's shield. If for some reason you want a support with a shield, you've got Karma and Lulu, both of which provide a speed boost as well. If you were to take her mid, she basically just provides poke, which other mages provide but with a greater ability to roam, higher dps, greater burst, or more utility in team fights.
