Faker Plans to become Support
Recents trends, along with the fact that support is the objectively best position.

Faker has been preparing by picking things like Lulu and Karma. This isn't for him, this is so his fans get used to it. No more will you see his Zed outplays.

People have questioned Faker's midlane abilities recently, giving up solo-kills to other region teams. He may go even in cs, but isn't the aggressive roam Faker he used to be.

Support is the one position where cs does not matter. This means no more wasting your time micromanaging a wave. What does everyone want to do? They want to kill the enemy. A support is allowed to focus completely on the enemy, screw creeps.

New Spellthief rewards you for focusing the enemy. You saw Faker's Cassiopeia game. Faker wants to build that Spellthief, get the quest upgrade, and just go HAM on everyone. Again, being support allows him to purely focus on killing the enemy.
Support will be Faker's retirement position. He is still a great player, but everyone ages. He will stepdown from midlane God into the support role to keep an income stream.
