I keep seeing this nonsense all over the place. That wasn't a backdoor.
A backdoor is when you attack the base without minions. (like the infamous xpeke incident) Lenny joined a giant minion wave at the doorstep and pushed through an UNDEFENDED base.
Or do you think still think its a backdoor when super minions take down nexus turrets while everyone's dancing around baron?
Earl Eulrich2 votesa backdoor is when you unexpectedly sneak into the enemy base to destroy the nexus, doesn´t matter if there are minions or not. And yea, it´s debateble in how much that has been "normal" splitpushing, but for a shen that had been a sneaky as it gets...
Gaxx D2 votesIn other words, if someone's not paying attention to the map and for example sits in the jungle and farms, then the entire enemy team pushes through the mid, then (for that person sitting in the jungle) it's backdoor, right? No. Backdoor is, like Slappybiscuit stated, when you attack the base without minions. What Lenny did was split from his team and pushed the lane.

I´d say splitpushing is a clearly planned move with the expectation to create pressure in the first place, not so much to really get much structures out of it... backdooring is a purly opportunistic move when you suddenly see a chance to take vastly important structures you didnßt expect and you act on it upon the spot

Look, I understand you have your opinion and all, but just because you have your opinion on a term that's LONG explained (and not because of LoL), it doesn't mean it's right (but you are right to a degree - when you backdoor it's usually because you took a split second decision, since you saw an opportunity to take an enemy structure, only that one specific condition must be met - you do it without creeps). And I never said Lenny was spliptushing as in continuous action. He simply split away from his team and took buildings in the enemy's base. But that was NOT backdooring.

I understand that slaves of social media and internet of today in general, feel the urge to come up with some stupid meme for every squat, piss and breath they see, but all he did was take a good split second decision. That's all there is to it.

If you don't control your minion waves and the enemy team is able to get their minions to your base, your base is under immediate threat. The minions are the warning that the base is about to be under attack. If you get attacked, you should have seen it coming and it shouldn't be much of a surprise if someone shows up.
In a backdoor situation, you might have the minion waves under control and not expect the master yi, kassadin, or nasus TP to a ward in your base and wreak havoc by his lonesome. There is no warning.
Slappybiscuit3 votesSo if you split push and "create enough pressure" that you take a tower out of it, it's a backdoor, because you "don't expect to take towers when applying pressure" ?? (this premise is garbage by the way) With that same logic, if you take the tier 1 turret by yourself in the early game you backdoored it.
TurquoiseYoshi1 votesThe reason why it wasn't normal splitpushing is that Shen used TP to get in. Lenny would have had to Recall to get back to base to do anything. It was a heavily coordinated effort from the whole team to do that. Lenny had to knock down the towers, but Shook and Freeze had to keep preventing Recalls. The real huge moment was when Steve canceled his TP to Lenny. That was because ROCCAT thought that they could, at least, put enough pressure on CW to either provide room to have somebody recall, or to get Lenny to recall. However, ROCCAT didn't realize that Baron minions are tough to fight and clear, and that CW can prevent Recalls very well due to that. It was a heavily coordinated 1-man takedown. Still impressive.

Earl Eulrich1 votesI´m just glad Roccats once again have gotten punished for their incredible boring try to mimic Koreans and slowly scale/wait for opponent mistakes rather than making plays...it´s really sad what they have become, they once had been such a proactive and innovative team (panth mid!).
