It's probably because his team actually helped him, and that Balls was able to start getting ult resets in the final teamfight.
Or maybe because Huni picked Yasuo into Darius (instead of maybe Gnar) and Febiven picked Ori into Azir (I think LB would have worked much better).

The ori wasn't a bad pick with the team comp because were so many ways to deliver the ball, but the yasuo pick was just stupid.
Darius is 8-5 btw...despite being blindpicked first rotation all the time.
It really helps as a Darius when the entire team blows all their teamfighting ults as an engage on to you, putting themselves on top of you and within reach of Noxus Might.

LB would have been much riskier. An intelligent pick would have been Varus, as Azir is goddamn weak to poke and fairly easy to catch out with Varus ult...or any other poke-mid. C9s Comp had been happily waiting for their opponents to come to them, but they did not posses many tools to actually engage on a poke-comp.
Yeah, as Kayle, I always love seeing Darius - it's like "okay, so, there's an extra big minion that trash talks me in allchat...?"
H2k failed blanc into azir. Lost the game because of it when they got behind.
Yas into Dar was a bad pick too. Having said that, Balls played well and as much as I hate to say it, C9 prepared well and looks like a team.
The best prepared teams are winning and C9 is right with Origen and SKT in terms of good results.
