The worst LOL esports caster IMO

Am I the only one who cannot stand Froskurrin as a shout caster. Even if I wanted to watch a specific match, if shes running commentary I decide its not worth watching. Some of the reasons are not fair but I believe some of the reasons i cant stand her are justified.

  1. She says annoying things like talking to the players as if they can hear her. it just doesn't sound professional it sounds like something a nerd would do at home while they are watching it (which is fine). shes supposed to provide analysis and commentary not act like shes baby talking the players. I think it is fine to get excited and it adds to the experience but the things she says are just annoying imo.

  2. She seems way more biased to me than any other caster. I know that every caster has a little bias and especially in regards to their region but it seems like she only ever points out good things about her regions players and ignores commentary on anything that doesn't interest her. I get that she is supposed to be an expert on her region but krepo, Jatt, deficio, or name any other caster can make unbiased commentary and sometimes even sell out their region to do their jobs properly.

  3. I know she cant help it but, her voice is annoying. It sounds like she has a huge loogie stuck in the back of her throat.

  4. Her commentary is rarely valuable or interesting. The only things she talks about is things that any average LOL player could tell you and do a better job at it. Jatt or kobe can give you in depth analysis. Krepo will tell you about the subtleties and strategies that exist in the game. Phreak has his puns and banter. Quickshot gets really excited and cant be beat for shout casting and quick word slinging. I just dont see what Froskurrin brings to the table

I know it probably has to do with my bias of watching EU and NA games mostly but am I the only one who thinks shes the worst?

Yea, she is pretty bad... Im not sure whether she is worse than Pulse or not.... Maybe it's just because Im stuck seeing Pulse more often.

I don't see much of her as shes really in the LPL more often than in other regions but I think she was at Worlds and it was annoying to listen to her.

It's a justified bias for NA and EU because you along with most are familiar with and got used to the style of casting teams they have. But it feels like there's a bit of sexism in your claims not to mention how you discredit what a colour caster is supposed to do. No matter how much she has improved and strived to improve (even going through social media for constructive criticism), a good amount of the community still continues to give her flak for even the most petty of things such as "I don't like her voice." I can take a guess that you didn't watch any of her casting during her "Severe" pronounciation period or even points before her LPL and OPL appearance. Comparing then to now, it's quite a lot of difference and improvement.

I'll start with your first point; basically calling out to the players as part of her casting. Comparison: Deficio. May not be as much but it still counts. As a colour caster, your job is to provide analysis and commentary on the plays made throughout the game and that's absolutely what she does. And it may be lengthy at times but when is it supposed to be as simple as new player experience casting? If it were like that the what's the point of their jobs?

Your second point on bias; that doesn't seem like something that needs to be grieved over. There's even a comparison to that: MonteCristo and Clement Chu. Region experts tend to have a bit of a stronger bias to their region but will also pinpoint the strongest and weakest of the teams that play there whenever possible. You can't expect just any caster of one region who has knowledge of every team there to run down every positive and negative about every team of another region in heavy detail.

The third point is probably the overall reason you made this post in the first place. And like I said above, that's just petty if it's something as simple as voice that tunes you off.

Your fourth point about invaluable and uninteresting commentary is pretty much bias and is rather untrue. You also point out qualities that other casters have as part of their own personalities, including play-by-play casters such as Phreak and Quickshot (though QS was colour back in the Deman/Joe days). Don't compare PBP to Colour casting; that takes quite a bit of talent to pull off consistently (believe me she tried at the LPL Worlds Qualifier during a celebrity showmatch - she said it's not her thing at all). Back to the first point though; a colour caster analyzes and pits commentary on the plays made. Whether or not she throws her own mix to the table is up to her and how she can deliver.

You grow to tolerate the casters. If you don't give a caster a chance, then why be so against them whenever they show up on the analyst or caster desk. We have Dom Roemer, Azael, Vedius and Fish as a few names who have been in the spotlight less of a time than Froskurinn and people will like them more or hate them just because of the way they look or sound when casting. You say she's the worst; great. But you can't just base it off of a limited pool of games watched and then compare it to other regions.

I think she is better on the analyst desk than she is casting. On the desk, she usually has some informative things to say. But when she casts, she leaves all that on the desk. Phreak on the other hand, should be limited to shout casting. His quips are often funny but he's not too good at analysis. Although her I have a mini game for you TL, just last longer than Fnatic did was an open mouth, insert foot moment.

Come on now, deficio isn't exactly unbiased. DAMMIT G2!!!! I still remember that from worlds. That was so funny.
