Reason for an earlier start date for LCS?

I heard LCS is starting back much earlier this year, like in January, is there going to be a longer season or they just feel like starting earlier? What is going on?

It seems like with all these ranked changes and what not going on this might be a bit risky, considering there are several champions that may need to be looked at.

Actually it always starts in January sometime shortly after the season officially begins. In fact it's even starting later than usual for North America specifically.

I wouldn't worry all too much. There's always some freak situation that happens like potential Ezreal stuff. I'd say keep hopes neutral. It's just better off
