There is no week 2 groups this year so nah c9 already got out. Theyre going to be against kt probally but after that preformance against rng... Imma call it if they play against kt with the same level of play they brought to the table against rmg then theres a 50 50 chance of a c9 semi or finals. But while my heart says yes my brain says c9 always memes at finals so even if they did make finals theyd end up doing something like ap draven jungle out of nowhere

That's the point. C9 will choke if the tradition continues. Sure, if they play like they did today they might have a chance but I doubt Jensen will get Zilean.

I barely watch proplay so I might be wrong about this, but when we're talking about the "C9 playstyle" I only think of Jensen on Zilean. He is a beast on that champion, but what's C9 gonna do once he can't ult someone for the revive?

C9 deserved the win today but out of experience I think that they'll choke next week. Groups or KO won't matter here. The only thing left to do is hope that I'm wrong and NA finally destroys the meme.

If I was to guess, as I don't think anyone has a definitive answer as to what hinders NA internationally, I would say confidence is the biggest factor. history gets to their head, they always (up until now anyway) think that Korea has all the answers and the right ideas and they drop what made them successful in order to clone the "right" way to play the game. What we've seen today is that there is no right way to play the game. There are good plays, synergies, comps, but there isn't a universal best. If playing aggressive made you successful at home, and you start playing reserved and go for late game, of course you're going to fail.

C9 just showed that if you have the right picks for the situation in the hand of good players, you can make things work your way. They find picks they feel counter popular champions, and they make it work. That was so refreshing to see.

I haven't talked to pros, but i have followed esports since the days of Broodwars, and i have seen that culturally we as a nation do not take it as serious as other cultures. I have seen plenty of interviews between pros talking about this and watched documentary and read articles on the difference between NA pro players and other country's cultures when it comes to professional esports.

Reason why Koreans have won the last 5 Worlds in LoL is because when it comes to strategy games like this on a professional level they get real hardcore in their practice habits and play, but its even more than their practice its how they live, eat, spend their free time, they are much more coordinated in all aspects they practice eat and sleep on a schedule, they don't spend a ton of time streaming, they arnt allowed to have girl friends or boy friends. They become extremely hardcore and that discipline shows.
