It would be cool to see a champ elim tournament
The concept is rather simple, for each stage a team progresses through they would be locked out of using champs they had already won with.
So for example if team 1 had used
in round 1 and
,
,
,
in round 2, then they would not be able to use any of those 10 champs in round 3
But if team 2 had used
,
,
,
,
in round 1 and
,
,
,
,
in round 2, they would still be able to use any champs team 1 had used, and vice versa.
with 136 champions, you could easily make the champion list last through all of the LCS teams with each team facing each other twice (10 teams at 2 games a piece, gives us 18 games x 5 champions = 90) and the 4 highest scores go for a best of 3 normal bracket style tournament which would leave 26 champions unused (2 semi final wins and 2 final wins x5 champions = 20) and that would only be if a team won every single game. It would be a pretty unique tournament to watch and see the crazy team comps they pull out. Plus the champ select strategy would be for the long haul instead of just for one or two games.
