It's interesting to watch the wildcard teams grow

Sure, they are still a ways off from the other major servers, but hey 2 or 3 years ago, these team were getting absolutely demolished in every way , shape and form. But just look at the All Stars : Kira showed up, beat Dyrus and was pretty unlucky to have to face Bjerg , Lex when all the way to day three, only loosing to Pray + his jungle Corki was actually pretty good . Sure the CIS team lost all 3 matches, but as I said , they still are growing. In a side note, the CIS team was not the strongest 5 x 5 team in the wildcard tournament, as they lost 3 x 1 to the Turkish squad, and only got into the All Stars because Kira won the 1 VS 1. Speaking of the IWCA, HolyPhoenix the adc for the Turkish squad, was just announced the adc for a European Team, Huma along side well known players like Santorin and Werlyb on what seems to be a Challenger team looking to get into the LCS. HolyPhoenix has only played in the Turkish championships, so this is his first time in the EU competitive scenario. Also if we go back 2 years, the wildcard teams at worlds would be defeated and thrown out 0/6 . Where as last year, Kabum took down 1 game from Aliance, making it the first time a Wildcard team won in the World Championship. Sure, we could say that it was more Aliance messing up then anything else, but hey, some credit should go over to the team the won a game. Then this year, Pain gaming took not 1 game, but 2 games, and although it was a easy group , its still a definite improvement from what the wildcard teams used to be. I look forward to see what these underdog teams can show us, in the years to come
