Lee sin loses a big part of his kit in competitive. Custom games do not grant you mastery points, so they don't have access to the mastery 7 emote, which is fundamental in lee sin's kit
The sad part is that he's coming back into the meta right now.
This is mostly a factor of tanks being way too overtuned.

No. I like lee sin because he actually takes skill unlike sejuani.
I believe it's more due to the fact that he is too squishy and has a little too telegraphed of an effect on his enemies, not to mention he is in no position to break the shields at Worlds. He was useless mainly because Bot lane was beyond too powerful there and Galio is a pretty good counter to him aswell.
Reminds me of a friend who'd was furious every time Lee Sin got one of those random buffs because he always felt he was in an okay spot the BAAM, random buff coming out a week later.
He's stayed quietly lately out of fear to my knowledge.
It says something about how ungodly the peel and shields were when Lee Sin, whose whole job is to insec a carry into his team to be eaten, can't do shit in the extremely ADCcentric meta.
