I disagree about the FF. C9 doesn't really get rolling until about 15-20 minutes in. I do see them dropping the inhib -30min, tho.

Let's be humble about this. As much as I love TSM, they're not doing it. As much as you and I may or may not love C9, they have a shot, but they wouldn't stomp SKT for sure even if they made it that far.

EDIT: And that's only assuming SKT even gets there. The way they've been playing, I'm unsure about it.

I haven't bothered watching SKT, but C9 has had some very poor early games. They only manage to get going it seems because people keep letting Sneaky get Tristana and push down multiple towers mid-game. I'm a big C9 fan, but I'm a bit apprehensive of how it's going to turn out when their fast-push comp gets banned or the enemies decide to focus their efforts on shutting down Sneaky.

I dont understand why its a knock against a team that continues to use the same strat to success. The stupid thing, would be to change your strat, and show something else. If what you are doing is winning, keep doing it until someone stops it. There is no reason to show anything else until you have to. I mean, we had to have a large discussion on how much would SKT/EDG really be trying/showing during their game so they dont show too much, and turn around and flame C9 for stomping 3 teams with the same strategy.

And honestly, with how many champs almost need permabanned, they can really plug and play a few different ones here and there and have a very similar comp to what they are running anyways. They are already banning Viegar. Now, if they waste a ban on Azir, there is still plenty of mid mages that can push and control, and if trist gets banned there are still jinx/etc. And, when you spend those bans, Morde starts getting left up, Gangplank, etc. Really, one of the main strengths for a team with a good strategy is the fact there just isn't enough bans to fully ban out the strat without giving up too many power picks.

Personally, I hope C9 doesn't get SKT. I think they have a really good chance of semi's if they get first and avoid the SKT matchup. I still want to see that matchup, but I would really like to see more C9 games, instead of a mini-final coming straight out of groups. C9 has some of the most exciting games. I think EDG is over-rated atm. They are in a group with only 1 good team, and got stomped by that 1 good team. Titans is basically a free win for anyone, and even coming in we all figured H2k was the weakest Western team. They really didn't even look good vs. the Titans. They havent looked good in awhile, and were only there because of points earned in the previous split. So, I'm not too sold on EDG atm, esp. with how the other Chinese teams are struggling.

I suppose that's a fair point. I've seen plenty of teams try to change up their strats and go from one of the top teams to one of the worst. As long as your opponents can't consistently beat out your strategy I suppose it's not necessary to diverge too far from a tried and true composition.

SKT will be in the finals. They have a solid squad that really has no immediate weaknesses. They have threats in every single position, and have yet to really have any team in their bracket give them a challenge. I can definitely see C9 making it far, but I don't see them getting to the finals. I think the top 4 will be SKT, EDG, OG and either C9, KT Rolsters or FNC.

Actually C9 has an insanely good chance of making it to the semifinals, and a decent chance at finals.. They will not have to face OG or SKT in the quaterfinals (if all continue to be first seed of course). Their only bad outcome would be having to go against EDG in the quarterfinals. So assuming they would not face SKT or EDG until the finals, they would most likely go against CLG, Koo Tigers, KT Rolster, TSM etc. which I'm confident they could defeat. Then SKT, EDG or OG would be unavoidable, but I think they have a decent chance against EDG or OG.

I don't know, China has been underperforming a lot, and EDG has only beat H2K and BKT. EDG has a long way to go the finals, and they proved they are not invincible with LGD's 3-0 over them.

I think C9 getting to the finals is a very long shot. But China I think was heavily over-rated this worlds. I honestly don't know who will be in the finals this year.

I don't think that they halve a chance statistically.... BUT stats rarely matter to c9. If anything is going to unseat skt it will be hai pulling some stat no ones seen before out and coming up big with like a kill lane top or duo mid or something. In all likelyness tho marjin is way better than balls as much as I want c9 to win

SKT and EDG are in the easiest group to get out of. We honesty have no idea if both of these teams are good. We cant at least speculate that SKT is good. But, I dont see why people are ranking EDG so high atm when they lost to the only competition they even have in their group. Titans is a free win for anyone, and H2k is the weakest Western team at worlds.

Honestly I'm holding my breath until the quarterfinals as to how strong these teams really are in relation to how well other teams are performing in much more competitive groups. We dont really know atm. No one expected the kinds of games we are getting in the other groups, so you dont exactly know the skill comparisons or levels until these 2 teams face the performers from other groups now.

I honestly dont think either team is going to just stomp the other good teams like in previous worlds. Hell, even in previous worlds/events, back when these teams were vastly superior, they still dropped a game or 2. So, with this worlds being WAY more competitive, I dont think we are going to see any real stomps come quaterfinals, which will make it a pretty exciting worlds, tbh.

Makes me wonder if people against C9 watch the NA LCS. I'm done picking against C9. They shouldn't even be here and they are 3-0 at worlds. Losing game against Fnatic and Balls......BALLS ffs gets a pentakill to end it. Ya, not picking against C9 anymore. I'm not insane.

I really don't think C9 have the individual skill to beat out SKT. They could definitely take games from them through Hai's shotcalling and Incarnation and Sneaky stepping up, but overall I think SKT will play too tight of a game to allow C9 hijinks and lose the BO5. We also still don't know if FNC will rally, and win against C9 which would definitely tip me towards SKT if that happened.

I get the SKT and C9 hype, no idea why people think EDG is so good. Their games are a struggle from start to finish. I would rank Fnatic higher than EDG, but there are so many good teams stepping up right now who knows. Don't forget also TSM was reaching god tier at end of the split and could show up in form any given game. Their only win was painful to watch but they are a capable team. Origen and KT should not be discounted either.

C9 has turned into a team of playmakers, their fundamentals might bite them in the butt against a team like SKT. Playmaking is fun to watch and is giving them wins, but it's a bit of a dice roll too.

If C9 and SKT play, then I think the games will be really close. I'd personally give SKT the edge, but I guarantee you that if they play, they will go 3-2 regardless of who wins.
