I mean, yes he got played a lot during spring split. But for me he doesent fit victorious theme.

I thought some of these champions would get it:

yasuo has been barely played during this season, zed got championship, garen has been played a solid 5 times in competitive play ever, darius hasnt been seen in competitive play since the broken worlds patch for season 5 and azir just got an SKT skin.

I think Shen or Viktor should have had it. They were very influential this season.

LETS ALL HOPE ITS NOT MAOKAI. That's just terrible move by riot for season 6 to be Maokai victorious? Its just making this season have the title of the worst season ever.

I mean . . . wow . . .. really Riot? I guess they are picking Victorious skins for the sake of nothing at all. Maokai is hardly played . . . from what I can see . . . seriously . . . . anyone would have been better than him.

I mean it is not like the above champions haven't been played at all this entire season . . . more than Maokai. Favoritism and elitist choices with skins. Great job Riot.

Maokai was prevalent in the meta for maybe 2 months. Other champions have been prevalent for the entire season like Bard, Viktor, Lucian, etc. and you guys pick maokai? I really hope Riot fixes this. Only reason I wanted gold was for skin, but this seems not worth it at all.

I would have expected Nidalee who was dominant in the jungle for pretty much the entire season, Maokai was the best top laner for a few patches but wasn't anything really game changing

Elise - Jungler Janna - Support JarvanIV - Jungler Morgana - Mid Sivir - ADC

So i'm guessing they're trying to give one to a top, which makes sense since Maokai fits that role best. I also know Elise / J4 / Morgana can be in other roles, but i'm going by their popularity in what lane. I believe they wanted a top laner to get Victorious and a tanky champ at that. Or maybe they're giving him one because of Ivern coming out? Who knows, but personally it's nice to see him getting a serious skin. His other skins are alright, Meowkai being cute but he hasn't gotten a skin like how Zed got Championship.

I'm happy either way. More variety, instead of giving it to super popular champions like Jinx (well that and she's getting a Star Guardian skin sooooooo yea lol).
