Week 2 NA LCS Rankings
Both Top teams from last split making a strong statement on the road to Rift Rivals, Rising teams were put to the test and some surprises in Week 2, lets get to it.
Top:
-
Ssumday: Not as good as he was last week but still showing he is great, still strong and still a member of DIG that earns them wins when he has the chance.
-
Hauntzer: Hauntzer back on Bruisers and Tanks, thank god. Maybe if TSM doesnt screw up and stick him back on squishies, we can see him at number 1 again.
-
Impact: He's back, C9 fans rejoiced, i rejoiced as their general in the top lane is back in a meta that shows his strengths.
-
Balls: Both weeks he showed he is still a strong top laner, hopefully FLYQuest will realize this and play through him one day but for now, a strong number 4, maybe even higher if he keeps playing like he has been.
-
Seraph: This guy's inconsistency had me salty since his CLG days, but seeing him FINALLY play like i know he could, made my eyes widen and take notice. Seraph may have finally found his grove on NV
Jungle:
-
Lira: The god, the man, the legend, the Korean myth of the NA LCS, another week with Lira showing why people say he's that damn good.
-
Shrimp: His game against Sven showed he can abuse lower junglers, he can abuse Svenskeren, but Reignover is far too cerebral in the jungle to be abused, and he didnt ascend into Holy Shit territory like he did on Saturday but still showed he can be a top jungler in the LCS.
-
Reignover: Finally this guy has excellent synergy with someone and funnily enough it was with the scapegoat of Team Liquid. Games like the one against DIG against excellent junglers like Shrimp and Chaser showed he may be on a comeback tear if TL can stay picking comps that free and activate GoldenGlue and Reignover as a roaming force.
-
Dardoch: Dardoch not on playmakers makes me sad, as we just saw against TSM, which is why he falls to 4.
-
Svenskeren: I wanted to not even put this guy on here after the 14 death series against DIG. His last 2 games against CLG though saved him, i was honestly ready to say this guy was an instant #10 after Shrimp man handled him.
Mid Lane:
-
Bjergsen: After DIG, i was thinking "Someone light a candle and pray for this man, he is too good to lose like this", Game 1 against CLG made me salty to see Galio, but game 2 and 3 made me happy to see Bjergerking stomping and putting the team on his back until others can have the lead translated.
-
Jensen: So happy to see my number 1 and 2 picks back at 1 and 2, nothing insane but pure dominant consistency coming from Jensen in both of C9's victories against great mid laners.
-
Huhi: Pobelter and Huhi i think are the diet coke of the Bjergsen/Jensen fight for best mid. huhi is great but he showed he canmake mistakes and while still great, not as good as Bjerg or Jensen firing on all cylinders.
-
Pirean: This guy is another example of the one thing that has me hype for this split, guys who had bad splits, who were wrote off to not be good, coming back in a second chance and dominating or doing well. NV and DIG in general are the personification of this.
-
GoldenGlue: So damn tired of people blaming Team Liquid's shortcomings on this guy, but against DIG, he showed if he can have someone back him up and give him the confidence, he can be a legit threat if he is allowed to push up and roam.
Bot Lane Duos:
-
DoubleLift and Biofrost: Biofrost on Thresh, that is all
-
Stixxay and Aphromoo: Great playmiaking bot lane, lost their number 1 spot obviously, but still a damn good duo who can go blow for blow with TSM's duo
-
Sneaky and Smoothie: Im happy to see them coming back and shaking the stink of last week off of them, still not ultra great but good none the less
-
LOD and Big: Theyre style is great for what DIG wants, but i feel like they need to be a bit more aggressive to break into the top 3. for now, a nice bot lane to play off of but not play around.
-
Apollo and Hakuho: I said last week that i wanted to see more of Hakuho to place this duo accordingly. I still do, i still feel like he has more to offer, and until we see NV vs CLG/TSM/C9, we will see NV's bot lane at 5.
Team Rankings:
-
CLG: Mistakes were made in game 2 vs TSM in a time where they couldve closed to series 2-0. I feel like game 2, CLG just went "Ayyyyyyy" and picked Blitz again. Still though, they showed even in a game 3 loss, they showed they can both beat TSM and give them an ass clenching heart attack, i still feel like TSM will have to fight to prove they are truly better than CLG, especially after TSM blowing it against DIG
-
NV: They will be here until i see them taking on a top tier team from last split that isnt a limping, deflated P1. Theyve just been so damn great in their wins
-
DIG: Blowing up TSM but getting complacent looking against TL kept me from putting them at 2 over NV. Fantastic team who looks like theyre going for the Bengi/Blank jungle duo that SKT had last season, both junglers are capable but DIG looked too lazy against TL to convince me to put them higher.
-
TSM: Same as DIG, svenskeren was complete and utter assmulch against DIG, showing his weaknesses in full force and getting out jungled hard. Then they go out and have a Classic Cheek Clencher against CLG that made look like they could be on the track to being number one again. Still, DIG hurt their ranking here.
-
C9: They lost to CLG and TSM, then beat a rotting P1 and have a tough one against EchoFox, im not convinced theyre completely out of the woods just yet but i am happy their winning so far.
I want to take time to mention Team Liquid. Reignover and GoldenGlue looked clean today and i hope they can ignore the people scathing them and continue to pair up and smash. Because of them, they freed up Piglet to dominate, i never want to hear Piglet go off on his team, especially after knowing how he was on SKT and how he is on TL.
Thats it for the rankings though, like last week, let me know if you agree or if you think my picks are nooby trash and i should feel bad. Let me know your picks if you disagree and your opinions if you got em.
