Week 6 NA LCS Rankings

Tiers from 1-10 start really unfolding as the split draws closer and closer to a close. 4 weeks left and we see exactly where teams stand. Lets get down to rankings for week 6 in the NA LCS

Top Lane:

  1. TSM Hauntzer: Never really had Hauntzer at number 1 this entire split with his mistake laden gameplay, but this week he showed why his argument that he is top tier is valid. He didnt make any godly plays, he didnt smash and 1 v 9, but he did dominate against two top laners that are going to turn any match-up into a slug fest if they can (for better or worse) in Zig and Lourlo. He showed he finally has a go to pick that he can perform well on in Camille, showed he can win in both sides of a Kled/Renekton matchup and is starting to really show that he is more than just another good aggro top laner, he can be a reliable frontliner if TSM needs him to be.

  2. DIG Ssumday: With the new members on DIG and a clear picture of what they want in the jungle, DIG has seemed to finally lay off Ssumday and let him do his thing, which is collect pressure and open up the rest of the map for DIG. We already knew he is a force, we already seen him do some amazing things but not being consistent whether it was his fault or not, hurt him. Against CLG and P1, two teams with great top laners, Ssumday reminded them just who the hell he was, even dominating Darshan in game two of their series against CLG the entire game. I just hope DIG can remain to be a team that doesnt 100% rely on Ssumday to win.

  3. IMT Flame: He's the only Korean top laner nobody was hype to see, the washed up former CJ Entus Top laner who got benched twice before coming to NA was seen as "good practice" for guys like Zig, Hauntzer, Ray, Impact and Lourlo. This split he's been returning to form and this week, he Flame horizon'd Ray who was and is seen to people as a top tier laner. This guy is great against aggro top laners, he's been playing their game since most of them were just fans of the eSports scene in LoL. Its just when he goes against a top laner with a more calm and cerebral approach to the game that he struggles, like Hauntzer has been trying and how Ssumday always was. This is what makes him still a little inconsistent. Still, showing he can have more than just a kill everything aggro all day style against C9 and FoX this week beating Ray and Looper brings him to number 3.

  4. CLG Darshan: This dude dominates in one series and gets smacked around hard the next. He's still showing he has a lot to go to change his style to be more aggressive in his splitting and needs to stop just dying for no reason to help the team when he could be getting leads. His problems are small, but the result of those problems for CLG can wind up costing big.

  5. FlyQ: Balls: Balls and Turtle seem to be the only ones on FlyQuest trying to actually improve, of the 3 old C9 dudes who came back, i ended up being hype for Balls after it all. He can still go and if FlyQuest actually played through him once, i bet he could do a lot for them. Seems to be like Old C9 is sharing problems with the new C9. Still, Mr. Reliable is again here at 5.

Jungle:

  1. TSM Svenkyarrrnn ( I love phreak): Svenskeren is rapidly shedding that poor MSI and Spring showing to look better than he did last year. Showing up on more than just the "guy who pocket picks Lee", on the Kha'zix, Gragas, Rek'Sai and Sejuani he was able to dumpster Inori, beat Mike Yeung and show Reignover this aint the same Svenskeren who people had as just a number 2 to him. Svenskeren is to me right now, the best performing jungler in NA. His invades are better, better routing, better fights in the jungle and better teamfighting. This guy could do no wrong this week.

  2. NV Lira: This week was actually the first time, even in the LCK, that ive seen Lira show up as good on tanks as he did this week. Even going so hard in the jungle that he helped NV 2-0 C9 and aided Nisqy in slapping around Jensen. He's starting to calm down as far as going god mode like he did in spring but its because he doesnt have to now, and is playing his own style finally and doing it well.

  3. DIG Shrimp: This dude made me think he was average at best when Apex was still an org and he was with Ray, Keane, Apollo and Konkwon, this dude is now making me think he has the ability to be a top jungler in NA now that a team has full trust in him, and showed it by canning Chaser who wasnt bad at all. DIG is putting their chips on Shrimp and after showing up on carries and tanks alike, he's proving that he can rise and stay S tier as a player if he keeps playing as well as he has been this week.

  4. CLG Dardoch: No idea why CLG is subbing him out, no idea why CLG waited until so late in the summer to start a completely fresh to the stage jungler over Dardoch, the games he did get to play though didnt impress as much as last week. Back to sloppy, slug it out, die for the ace Dardoch.

  5. IMT Xmithie: He looked really not like Xmithie this week, even in a 2-0 week. Im not sure if the team putting more trust in Pobelter and playing around him kinda made Xmithie take more of a back seat of if he was off today like he just mentally checked out but some ugly personal play from Xmithie this week.

Mid Lane:

  1. TSM Bjergsen: The trend this week seems to be TSM smashing at all points, but Bjergsen really really got to smash this week. Why god do people let him play Syndra? Would teams give Victor to Crown? Ryze to Faker? Orianna to Perkz? Kassadin to Xpeke? Do teams just want to play chicken with TSM to see if they wont pick Syndra? I have nothing to say on Bjerg than dude was a kid in a candy store with the good picks teams let him have.

  2. IMT Pobelter: He actually did it, he showed he can carry his team. The utility mid laner strapped on his carry shoes and got the Corki and just bullied C9 and before that, he bullied Damonte on Leblanc and Taliyah. He's showing a new side to himself and i love it. If his carrying style can translate this well for the team, he can be EXTREMELY dangerous as someone in a role to not drop the ball as a carry oriented champ with a mindset who still plays for the team like Pobelter has been. If he keeps this up, he will be a monster internationally.

  3. NV Nisqy: NISQY? Yes Nisqy. He didnt take any of Jensen's crap, HE got the lead in mid, not Jensen, and proved more valuable to his team than Jensen. Then against FoX he made them really regret Froggen not being in that series. He was a name from EU i liked watching for some reason, and i still cant put my finger on why he still seems like he doenst fit in when talking about good mid laners in NA when over his career he's proved he belongs. Dominating performance none the less this week from Nisqy and we see him at 3.

  4. C9 Jensen: Maybe now people will listen to me when i put on my "Not my mid-laner" sandwich board and start screaming that the end is nigh for C9. This dude has straight up refused to leave mid before 15-20 minutes this entire split save for 2-3 series. He looks like he's on tilt and wants to blame the rest of C9 as to why he gets ahead and they still lose. Individual performances dont get you wins against top teams, teamwork does, and this dude has noe before he feels like he should finally help the map. If his style did get wins, Echo Fox and C9 would be 1 and 2 right now. Jensen gets me salty when a team takes advantage of his not leaving mid pre 15, because he has the ability to stop it and help C9 out of the dump.

  5. DIG Keane: Nothing good or bad out of him this week, clean, reliable, stable and helpful. Every team save for 1 (TL) has this guy. The guy who looks like he straight up doesnt even want to have a single highlight reel in his career and just does his job. If youre a fan of Pro-Wrestling youll understand when i say he is like Lance Storm.

ADC:

  1. NV Apollo: NV gets to surprise picks in these rankings, Apollo really out-shined every other ADC this week, nobody on this list was terrible this week, just moments that let other climb higher than the usual top tiers in this list. Apollo was really impressive and im liking him the more i see him.

  2. TSM DoubleLift: just because he got outshined this week doesnt mean he didnt destroy. Arrow and Piglet got embarrassed by this dude, just one game out of 4 this week for two 2-0 series where he was behind and still won. He's dangerous, he;s in a meta that suits him and if teams try anything cute like TL did, they will be blown out hard.

  3. DIG Altec: This guy had so much hype around him when he first stepped into the LCS and he showed at point why that was, but never got going. Now that he has a damn good support, id say the number 2 or 3 support in NA, he's really letting loose and his series against CLG and P1 saw him smashing against 2 great ADCs with tons of international experience. i loved it.

  4. IMT Cody Sun: This dude has finally shown after so many weeks from one split to the next, just what kind of ADC he is, he isnt the magical hyper murder ADC or the guy who is going to amaze and wow with his outplays, but he is going to be a strong team fighter, a strong point of pressure for IMT and a strong reliable carry that lets IMT free up the rest of their players to roam and get things done. A Purist ADC.

  5. FLY: Wildturtle makes me sad. He doesnt play terrible, but seeing him just slum it on FlyQuest just makes me think he couldve been doing so much better on a different team. He's still in a meta that calls for his ridiculous plays and MLG420No-Scope attempts at kills, but its all hindered to look like he isnt what he used to be when he still is, because FlyQuest is just terrible as a unit.

Support:

  1. DIG Adrian: This guy finally gets a team after me losing my temper when TL lets him go for KonKwon and what does he do? He smashes. He even destroyed his former teammate in Arrow, the guy that started all of this. His incredible Thresh play vs CLG and P1, his Blitz isnt too bad either. I fell in love with this guy as a support since i saw him IMT just break out and look incredible. Im glad he's giving me another chance to fanboy this week.

  2. TSM Biofrost: No real big Biodaddy plays, he just came in this week, cracked his knuckles, looked at Xpecial and Matt and just said "No", then melted their bot lanes. standard Biofrost this week, and thats not a shot at him, i mean standard for him is crushing bot lanes like a steamroller over a pepsi can.

  3. IMT Olleh: Ive not really seen many support players save for Arphromoo and Mat back in 2015 be as good of a teamfighter on Bard as Olleh. He's really starting to show he can hang with big name supports and is part of the reason for IMT's surge in the summer. ImT has a stellar bottom half of the map because of this guy and his instincts as a support and playmaker are second only to Aphro. That being said, he actually played better than Aphro this week which takes him to number 3.

  4. NV HakuHo: This guy just keeps impressing week after week. Is he a top caliber support? Not yet but he is proving why when people want to mention how good Apollo is, they have to mention Hakuho. Similar to Cody Sun and Olleh, this guy is part of the reason his team is doing so damn well. He's as dependable of a support that you could ask for and that says a lot since NA has a stacked support roster.

  5. CLG Aphromoo: CLG still looks sloppy and when this guy gets sloppy, they lose. Which is what happened this week. Maybe the Rift Rivals break wasnt good for every team, i hope this sint a sign of him falling off and is just a lapse. Still though, he didnt look like his usual self this week at all.

Team Rankings:

  1. TSM: Theyve been crushing it since day 1 of Rift Rivals, and havent lost their step, and scarily enough, seem to be playing better than their Rift Rivals performance. Are they the 18-0 team that is running through everyone? No, and that, to me is what makes them look scarier. They know what makes them lose and they worked on it, dwelled on it, let it eat at them and proved, while everyone is saying "We want to beat TSM" theyre saying "We want to win worlds". Theyre that damn good and proved it this week.

  2. IMT: CLG fell off hard this week and with them seeming to be willing to treat OmarGod as a viable sub for Dardoch, will and already has shot them in the foot and let IMT take the 2 spot in my eyes.

  3. CLG: They still have the mind, the players and the skill to be a top team in NA but these goofy decisions and picks will hurt them and is why they are 3 this week.

  4. NV: Im going to put them at 4 and not DIG until i see how Adrian and Altec fair against Apollo and Hakuho.

  5. DIG: Scary slip ups leading to this week made me think it was time for the spiral to 6th again for DIG but putting faith in Adrian and Shrimp made them really bloom into a team that can get shit done without using Ssumdaddy as a crutch.

  6. C9: They just make me so salty when they play now, Jensen makes me mad, Contractz makes me scratch my head too much and their top lane clown car of a situation makes me feel like they have no idea what on earth they are doing at all.

I stopped at 6th since 1st-6th will be the spots getting playoff appearances and 7th and down is all one game apart with teams who can throw and win at the drop of a hat.

Let me know what you guys think and if you disagree. Thats it for this week.

Great job again dude, keep it up !

I kinda jumped parts of games the past 2 weeks so I didn't hear what happened to Froggen/Akaadian ?

Really surprised that C9 lost to Immortals but come to think of it, C9 just aren't good anymore..... as far as objectives and communication - as well as their " Clown car" situation at top. ( Love that ) Jensen is pretty much the new Froggen in my mind, dominates lane and that's really about it - loses but wins - wins but loses. Sneaky is getting B slapped especially the last 2 weeks so far in this " CARRY" meta with his "meh" lane dominance lane phase that really stops him from being the best Western ADC ever.
The only way I see C9 winning these days is if everyone plays more of a poke comp that doesn't really need "teamwork" or grouping to get ahead -cause even when grouped and working together/team -fighting etc Cloud 9 just aren't good, and that was one of the team biggest strengths. Something like a Nidalee/Pantheon top/jng type of poke for Impact/Ray - Contractz The lost to NV wasn't surprising considering just how far each player on NV have come, Seraph use to be garbage but instead is holding his own in most games being countered and has to scale for late game, Apollo isn't hugging his tower 24/7 and Hakuho may be my #1 support this split if he keeps it up.

TSM still looks strong, while TL looks weak as always; to be fair tho to TL, they actually look better without Reignover but instead with Inori so......... expect more roster swaps but we all know who's the real problem on the team. The sad thing is, once TL actually realizes who's the problem - it'll be too late.

CLG looks really bad still, losing to DIG was really demoralizing in my mind, with the trash talk from Dardoch about DIG camping Ssumday and he himself camped Darshan and they still lost ahhhgh! CLG have always been good with it's core players with communication but the cancel TP from Darshan in that 3v5 fight and yet, CLG still went into the 3v5 and lost was really bad.

FQ are getting there, their 50+min game was exciting but against TL it's not something FQ should be too proud of. Dying constantly and bad communication is still something plaguing this team still. Hopefully it's not too late for Hai to realize his style and have his " Hai shotcalling" that we all know.

DIG if Keane can actually have decent positioning in games he would be a top tier mid but at times he's in the front line in fights, dies and it's over for Keane and company more times than not. Adrian is a huge + because of the Altec being more of a farming carry and the Adrian support makes more sense.

"C9: They just make me so salty when they play now, Jensen makes me mad, Contractz makes me scratch my head too much and their top lane clown car of a situation makes me feel like they have no idea what on earth they are doing at all."

Pretty much sums up my feelings toward C9 atm. I wish I could hate them like I do with TSM and just brush them aside, but I just can't. It's even more frustrating when I see them playing so poorly. They don't even look like a middle team now, more like a 8th-10th place one. If they don't get their shit together very soon, it's gonna be the first time they may not even reach either playoff/world. P1, despite their good Rift Rivals performance, also don't look capable of making it to world. Guess I'll just have CLG to root for...and that is quite scary with how unstable they can be sometimes.

I'm a C9 fan but I'm forced to agree completely. I think the Top lane is a little underrated for them but that's mainly because they're given the "Dyrus" treatment aside from when they're on blue side and go for the highly predictable super leash top gank that everyone does. I also think the statement of "They're not good anymore" is not true. I think other teams have stepped up and C9 refuses to grow and improve and play at the same level they have been since they signed Impact. When they were a dominating force it was more due to over-performance from Impact solo killing people while also evading every gank which as the quality of teams goes up is an unreasonable expectation. Watching them is a test of patience at this point and the biggest issue to me is that they have no true shot caller or decision maker, reapered has came out and said that the top laners aren't the brightest, Sneaky has immense understanding of the game but is a purist adc who is immensly focused on micro during the situations where a shot caller is needed, Jensen plays soloq, and Contractz+Smoothie are the main voices on comms and the newest members of the team. They also lost their assistant coach at the start of the summer split but idk if that would have effected them that much though because the team he went to is not doing so hot.
