This is definitely a fun thread postmortem. LOL

Longzhu dominated SKT in a bo5 in the LCK finals. Longzhu has shown overall better teamplay and the ability to carry across all three of their lanes effectively. Longzhu's toplaner (khan) is probably the single biggest threat of all players in the tournament with his ability to play both meta and off-meta picks effectively (nasus being a quality anti-tank pick). If I had to choose though, SKT can and will probably win in the finals due to the fact that this is not only their first "rodeo", but unlike previous years their path there is far easier with them having no korean teams and potentially facing teams from the two weakest regions.

LZ is looking much better than SKT this year. I'm personally not impressed with skt yet.

I would love that LZ win this Worlds but if i have to remain realistic... SKT will win at 90% chance ..[cass-cry]

Longzhu relies on their Khan to pop off, they mid-laner to stand toe-to-toe with Faker and their bot laner Pray not die to ganks to beat SKT. There is definitely a chance for them to win. But I felt SKT has already found out how to deal with it. You cannot expect 1 strategy to always work against the same team. Especially against SKT. Tho if LZ devised a new strategy, the result would be a lot more interesting.

I've been watching both teams for a while.

I always thought BDD had better mechanics than most LCK mid laners, perhaps just next to Faker. He's younger and just arrived at his prime now, so we'll probably see the best of him in years to come.

I think Wolf also plays better than Gorilla, but he has been making mistakes in this tournament so he'll have to step it up. I don't doubt his capacity to do so.

The real difference is in the top lane and jungle. I know Huni is good but Khan is just superior this year. Other than that, we've seen Peanut fail to adjust to the meta champions. I doubt that SKT will play to the meta against Longzhu in the tournament if they end up playing against each other (I suspect picks like Olaf or Lee sin).

My vote is on SKT because despite their mediocre performance in the tournament, Faker and Wolf know how to turn a game around, and I haven't seen that particularly from Longzhu players.

SKT always looks rough at the start, idk maybe they don't take it as serious as they should, maybe they don't think highly enough of their enemies.

but in the end SKT puts up their slack and dominates

Honestly, the way SKT played in the group stages (with 2 scary games against EDG and a loss to AHQ, and they didn't exactly curbstomp C9), I don't see them winning this year. Actually... I put RNG to beat them in semis.

Longzhu on the other hand? Dominated their group and showed no signs of slowing down. I put them as winners over RNG in the final.

I don't know if I really think RNG will beat SKT (SKT always pulls it out at worlds, and to be honest their comebacks against EDG will probably really help them play better in knockout stages), but I felt it was most appropriate to judge on current performance. RNG losing to G2 wasn't as bad as SKT losing to AHQ, and RNG beating SSG twice pretty convincingly was a lot more impressive than SKTs two wins over EDG.

i went by the 6-0 and 5-1 ratings. so longzhu is winning on my card. honestly though i have no clue. this year is about who has the early game composition. what champions are they picking the most?

RNG will beat SKT first.

While LZ are strong it's hard to bet against SKT when they're like a better, stronger version of TSM. What do I mean by that? Playoffs. Yes SKT lost to LZ in the finals but from what I understand their summer split wasn't all that stellar this year. Cue playoffs and SKT get to finals. TSM is a similar story in how their regular season may be sloppy at times but come playoffs they're able to consistently make finals. Because of that and the fact that SKT has won every Worlds they've been to my vote is on SKT to win.
