Okay so, this year world will be on a very exiting patch to watch, many changes since summer, and with changes come new picks. Let's gather around and see if we can predict some of the new champion picks:

TahmKench : I think we will finally see Tahm in his full glory, and i predict it will be top or jungle. Tahm is one of those that got so much benefit from the new items in 5.16, and maybe we will see teams using his ultimate properly now. Also remember that Tahm is one of the few tanks, that is actually super strong in 1v1 after some levels.

Soraka I think the world is ready to see soraka. For me is a sleeper OP. She has very clear weaknesses but if you can build a team able to kite or protect her in some way, you ar egood to go. Soraka is in ABSOLUTE the champion that can impact the outcome of fights the most in the game. No doubt about it.

Skarner : After the rework skarner is definetly a good pick now. He got nerfed heavily (he wwas ridicolous), but he can still impact the game ALOT.

Lux Lux will make an appereance at world, im pretty sure about it. Many little buff each patch actually helped her a lot, and she can be absolutely devastating if left unchecked, thanks to her range and her insane poke.

Mordekaiser He is a bit of a ? but i think we will see him. Because he has so many strenghts and weaknesses he can do absolutely great or absolutely bad. But his Dragonforce is what will make him really shine in competitive. THAT THING IS STRONG.

Nocturne Nocturne will make a huge comeback, while rengar was more of less always played, nocturne short range ultimate was penalizing him too much. This is not the case anymore soo... expect much more of him.

Zyra Zyra changes to her plants AI is a huge buff. Belive it or not she can be incredibly oppressive now. I think she will be played in midlane at worlds.

Fiora Not that big of a surprise we alrady sawe her, but at worlds we will see her even more. Her 1v1 is crazy and her ultimate is just too good for competitive teams to don't pick up.

Garen GAREN WILL MAKE IT GUYS! And i acutally think he can do really good too. Garen start slow, but damn he becomes really unstoppable at some point. Yes you can kite him, but if you ban sme kiting champions or protect him in other ways he becomes truly truly terrifying especially for the Villain. His ulti can literally take out more then half health to a villain.

Darius Similar story to Garen, you have to build around him. BUt if you do it correctly he is just a Pentakill machine. you cannot leave a darius rampage in a teamfight or you will jsut lose straight up. He will show up at world.

Velkoz Oh yes. Vel'Koz Baby. With the raise in power of juggernauts we will see a lot of people running towards the enemies. Vel'Koz is great in that situation. Chasing Vel'Koz is NOT GOOD. Withotu mentioning his great burst and poke at the same time.

Bard Bard problem is always the laning phase. But as for Vel Koz, he can kite for days, and he can literally stops people on the spot. Garen coming at all gears towards you?, np you got bard, just ulti him.

Renekton Renekton is just super good with the new juggernauts items. Basically that's it. Not only he is super strong early, but he can stay toe to toe with most of toplaners and create chaos in teamfights.

Nami Nami will make a big return too. her laning ophase is always super good, but also her kiting and disengage is. And that will come very handy at worlds.

Karthus If you want somene to die when things go bad, that's Karthus. What i mean by that is te act that if we reall see these strong carry toplaners and you fail to kite them, you could use karthus as "Ace in the sleeve".

Lucian Lucian got some buff, but actually i think they helped him a lot. his skirmishing and mobility is greatly increased by this and i think we will see some of him.

A champ you didn't list which I consider is Brand. For... reasons. Also, Reignover has been playing a lot of Skarner in solo Q, he might be considering that for Worlds.

Tahm Kench in supp or jung from Asia. EU use of juggernaut and a morde bot. Expecting more Vayne and Kalista with zeke's in supp.

I doubt they will play garen. Tanks are supposed to have some solid cc, garen only has a silence, so he cannot really peel for the adc, he just has to run for the adc or mid laner and hope for the best. Also garen takes 0 skill so I kinda hope they do not play him idk if it would be very fun to watch.
