GV NA's best hope for a respectable Worlds showing?

In both of GV's games this week they won cleanly and looked in a different class than TSM and CLG. If GV keeps this up, and continues to improve, maybe NA will have the potential for a top team this worlds.

Am I over-reacting? Thoughts? Discussion?

i think just the mere fact that teams are stepping up, creates more competition and better teams all around. TSM's lost will hit them hard, and they will only come back better.

A good win, and good to show what happens if you rely on this dumb AP Ez. If TSM were to try this in worlds, same result: a humiliating loss.

still have to see them in playoffs ruling out TSM just like that is problematic

I´d think so, they seem to be the only team in NA that can actually think outside the box and pick what will work for them and play their comp out the way it´s meant to be played. Also they seem to have a fairly good gameplan, even though they still fall for the famous "midgame-pause" that pretty much differenciates the good teams from the best ones. Certainly still not really top 8 material, but if those guys get one more season to come together maybe they can step it up another notch...

I don't know if they are the best hope overall for NA (they have no international experience after all), but they are certainly the only team other than TSM that I think can possibly have a decent showing at Worlds if they get there

I was debating with some guy in a Power Ranking thread about 1 month ago, that TSM and C9 troubles in the first weeks of the split - from which TSM recovered while C9 still do not see the light at the end of the tunnel - weren't due much to the increasing competitivity of the NA scene, but to their own struggles as no one team had really madee big changes in their rosters and big improvements through it (in those weeks everyone was praising CLG, Dig and TL performances). And I was arguing that the only exception to this situation was Gravity, that added multiple starters and were the only team that was seriosuly improved from last split both for this reason and because they were naturally getting better since they had realtively little LCS experience in Spring Split They are actually proving the above mentioned thing to be true, and while the other teams actually to the top of the table are pretty much the same teams that were inferior to Spring Split C9 and TSM that struggled this season vs the rest of the world, they could be the only one that have improved enough to be a threat for TSM in NA and for the teams of the rest of the world

My personal ranking right now on NA its Gravity/Team liquid/TSM

Gravity is so polyvalent, they are finally accurate on shotcalling and strategy, they have the best of a best-of-5 if they can hold on mental thoughness.

My last doubt on Gravity is the biggest reason why Team Liquid is ranked second. This team is so tough, whatever happen IWDominate has a plan to bring is team back during a game, and everyone still beleive. It's a very very solid team.

TSM are better on paper of these 2 up there, but if there first strategy fail, they lose, they can't adjust in game at all if it doesn't go their way. If they are behind they can rely on a good teamfight and that's all. I really don't think they are serious contender.

What if CLG trade Huhi for Meteos? :D I don't have enough fingers and toes to point out the numbers of Xmithie's fails on one game... it's really their weak-link

gravity is a good team, but i feel like this success may be short-lived

I think Move is a lot better than "fine". I agree that Bunny's shot calling has been on point but Move's jungling.. specifically his warding has been massive.
