Whats been going on this year with EU and NA's fanbase

This entire year the NA vs EU rivalry is acting like Brazil with the world cup. I legit cannot have an opinion that degrades the other side in any way, shape, or form or I get downvoted and cursed at repeatedly by people who are from the region. Even casters and SJOKZ of all people afraid to say correct predictions because fans of that team that are being voted against will legit cyberbully you for hours. Why is it that this year its been happening way more than any other. Last year EU and NA were both western regions who tried to work together to bring down eastern teams. We would banter and say things like "Fuck you." and all but it would never turn into legit threats and now this entire year NA and EU have been at each others throats the whole year. Why are doing this?

What I don't like is people are going out of their way to insult the other region in a stupid serious way. Because of Fnatic last year getting to worlds finals (and getting stomped by the way) and G2 this year being a team that got on the global radar, suddenly EU fans are acting all high and mighty and as if they want nothing to do with NA and beating them is not even worth mentioning. Meanwhile NA is consistently trying to devalue this EU progress by suddenly claiming NOTHING short of winning worlds counts. And somehow NA fans have become such prudes, hating on G2 because they are "arrogant and disrespecting". I think we all need to take a step back, realise we are talking about whose region is better at a video game. And stop acting like one is insulting the other's family and values they were grown up with.

IMO: Keep the banter witty, caustic, meme-ey and tasteful.

Whichever region performs better = wins the arguments. So NA is in no position to say anything but yet they keep running their mouth. They should be quiet after series of performances they gave. And all the flak they get is well deserved. But no. They want to talk shit just for the sake of talking shit... What they do is pure pathetic trolling. So end result is what you see.

This isn't a new thing. EU vs NA has always been a toxic twitch chat rivalry. Honestly, I'm pretty sure there's some backdoor bribing going on for EU still be in the tournament. "Home team advantage". If you ever tune into the LEC you can see they're really nothing great. Those monobrowed mongoloids got to feel better about themselves somehow. Quarterfinals was fun to watch. :) Loved watching 2 of their teams get knocked out.
