Champ rotation needed in LCS

As much as I love watching the finer points of the pro leagues regardless of what champs they play, it is getting VERY boring clicking on the "Watch Live" button only to see the same identical line up that the other 50 teams around the world have been and are using for the past year.

Solution: Similar to pitchers in major league baseball, there should be a limit as too how many games a champ can be played by a person before that champ needs to be rotated out.

I have heard other complaints from people who think that the play style in the LCS is boring to watch, where nothing happens for the first 20 min and then its just a waiting game to see who screws up first. I think a lot of this is attributed to seeing the same champs again and again which force a certain play style. If new champs were forced into the mix, the pros play style would change, which would also change the flow of the match possibly resulting in more kills or action early on.

This would also be beneficial to the players themselves in having them learn new champs which would also better reflect their "pro" status instead of being only very good at a few champs.

Ultimately, this would also result in higher viewership, which is good for Esports, and I can see even more interest by lower level casual players who wouldn't mind seeing their favorite champs at the Pro level as well.

Any other opinions? I think this would be a win for everyone.

First of all, there is no limit to how much a pitcher can go in baseball. He only stops when his arm needs to rest. I just had to comment on this because I play baseball myself.

As for your main point, I'm going to say that I disagree with you. Teams are going to play whatever they want to play to win their matches. If riot really did think that LCS was boring, they would probably buff assassins so we could see more actions. But right now, I'm having a lot of fun watching LCS. I watch both EU and NA, and I think the matches are usually, (not always) fun to watch. Sure, you might have games where first blood comes at 25 minutes. But then there's intense games such as Echo Fox pulling off a crazy backdoor in a 67 minute game against Dignitas. ( i think it was dig) Putting this champion limit just doesn't seem fair. If one player's best champion is elise, then they should be able to play elise whenever they want. If the other team thinks they're too good, they ban elise. That's it for me. I disagree with you 100%.

I also played baseball myself till high school and we had a rule where pitchers were only allow to pitch a certain number of innings (over the course of so many games) before they had to be rotated out. So this was interesting strategically, since you would have save your good pitchers for important games. If this is not how it is in the Majors, then my mistake. I haven't been keeping up with baseball.

I agree with you on the games being interesting to watch, regardless of how long it takes for first blood and I actually like seeing the teams work slowly to set things up. The longer the better! More for me to watch and learn. I brought this comment up because I know a lot of other complaints about the Pro games being boring were pointing this out. My point is more on getting more of the 130 champs available to see some screen time. I've honestly gotten lost when finding matches to watch since they are all the same line up nowadays and the ones that stand out are the few that have a "less-played" champ in the mix.

As for Riot buffing assassins to make things more interesting, that would change the gameplay on all levels, not just the pros and that wouldn't necessarily be beneficial for LoL as a whole. My solution of having a champion rotation at the pro level would affect them only, and in a minor way that doesn't completely hinder them. I did mention that it would force them to play more champs, which sounds bad for them at first, but honestly, at that level they can already play so many so it wouldn't hurt them. this would make the pick and ban phase a lot more interesting too!

The high school rules come from an attempt to protect the players. These guys don't know their own limits as well as a pro player does, don't understand the possible repercussions of overuse, and are just weaker than MLB players (since they're younger and less physically mature). Most MLB teams also rotate out their pitchers to keep them fresher for each individual game, but you do get exceptions, like in the 2014 World Series where Madison Bumgarner pitched 21 innings for the Giants, winning two games and getting a save in the third.

As someone who has played baseball all the way through highschool on the varsity team... growing up through my leagues....there was no such rule for me... u threw all the way until u couldnt throw reliably anymore or didnt want to... and even now my highschool PIAA section 3 still has no pitch count no inning limit itself and also once u hit college also no rules and pros definitely dont have that rule in fact in many of the pros contracts if they go X amount of complete games they get a paid bonus...

onto the league point.....seriously....but not toxicly... do u urself watch a lot of the pro teams or just some? cuz some of them play a ton of different pocketpicks... if u wanna see some brutal top lane action watch CLG and IMT as thats their win focus.. if u wanna watch tanks go at it... snore... then TL and TSM are 2 fun ones to watch.... also if u want a mix up every game try watching the NACS .... werlyb loves to play jax... one of the only pros atm to do so besides darshan... also try different regions... the LCK are notorious for starting different metas such as the rammus top lane... not quite even here in NA LCS....

as far as the lane swaps go and mirroring the turret game... yea thats just the evolution of the laneswap and how far teams have gone with it... try back in season one.... the "laneswap" was unheard of and punished/laughed at...season 2 invented season 4 almost where we are at now... it just makes it fun to see the 2v2 bot lane or 2 top notch top laners duke it out.
