If a champ was baited into using multiple Cds, and you kill them or escape, it doesn't matter if you used 1 button or 6, you outplayed them...

There's definitely a liberal use of "outplay" for some champions, but Sven was outplaying the shit out of RNG during the early game.

When Sven pressed Q and landed it at a long distance, that while in itself not really an apply, landing it on the other hand with hecarim travelling at full speed takes a fair amount of skill, you'd have to predict your opponents movements which he did.

When he killed Hecarim, Lee sin landed every single one of his abilities multiple times and used flash to chase him over the wall.

I dont think they were reffering to the Q to escape as an outplay. The outplay was when he turned what would have been 2 deaths into 0 deaths. If he had jumped to kennen, hec would have ulted both of them which would have killed lee sin and stalled kennen long enough for the rest of RNG to arrive. He knew that hec would chase the easier kill if he took a different path than kennen and he predicted when hec was going to ult. sure he only pressed a couple of buttons, but he read hec like a book which warrants the title of outplay.

if both junglers goals are to outperform each other and not dying is one of the requirements for out performing the other jungler then pressing Q to get away can be considered an outplay.

You're taking it out of context. RNG was trying to catch him out but didn't succeed. He outplayed their play.

The most similar we have over here is tv focusing on Ronaldo no matter how good or bad he plays. Titles for this years UEFA champions league final? "Ronaldo with penalty wins the game." When he was nofactor all game long. Similar for European cap. Give me a break already.

Pretty sure you don't watch the LCS. They get hyped for a >= 3-man anything. Alistar knockup, Rumble ult, Kennen ult, Nami Q, ESPECIALLY Gnar/Ori ult... if it hits 3 or more players, the announcers collectively lose their shit.

Apparently every time someone does anything that includes them playing and getting an advantage in a fight, its an outplay.

In still remember a while ago I saw a clip where an Ali headbutt pulverized the adc and the announcer was like "OUTPLAY" and I'm sitting there thinking "isn't that just a two button combo they practice daily?"

It's like they've never known (or forgotten) what champions can do with a single button press. Weren't one of the commentators a past-pro? These things shouldn't be as surprising nor exciting to him. For example; anyone with a shield saves themselves from poke, and they cheer going 'woah that denial of burst!'

To elaborate; I've played since season 1, I understand what the vast majority of champions can do (however it doesn't mean I'm good with most of them). So I don't need some commentator to 'explain' what's happening, if anything I find them to be a distraction because they drown out the game's sound effects; which are more interesting than their reactions, since the crowd is already doing that in the background. They're talking it up like they're on a radio show, when we can clearly see what's happening for ourselves.

As a counterpoint, I played when the game was first released, and hadn't played much in at least three years before the NA LCS got my interest back up. I have no damned clue what's going on most of the time, except that it's flashy and looks cool. I understand basics like positioning and when someone makes a good flash, and I know abilities for champs that I see the pros play a lot, but I need the commentators to explain what just happened most of the time because I can't tell in the jumble. I'd wager most of the viewers are a lot closer to my level than yours.

That's a difference of understanding then, in the first few years the game was released I was playing an average of a dozen games a day. Hadn't had a main (champion nor position) for over a year, so I have had quite a bit of experience across several champions and positions, both playing as and against. I don't play nearly as much as I used to, but there's several reasons for that besides life. I frankly don't care if it 'looks cool or flashy', that's not what kept me interested in the game to begin with, if anything it's part of what's driven me away from playing the game. They've been sacrificing strategy for reflexes.

The caster's themselves are mainly bronze players who get amazed very easily about mechanics. Most of the"out plays" they call are just miss plays haha. He's a horrible announcer, he just yells.

They also love to hype up certain teams/players and make really unwarranted claims based on extremely small sample sizes. Then, if the predictions don't come true, it's a massive upset and "underperforming". I don't take the commentary seriously regarding top teams or players.
