I feel bad for Immortals

ShiishKabob··8 votes·2,089 views

According to the website, http://www.gosugamers.net/lol/rankings, Immortals are ranked number 6 in the world. Assuming we swap them out with SKT and put SKT before Immortals, they would still be ranked in the top 10. Deep down I feel that the Immortals are getting a raw deal and should be allowed to participate at worlds. I'm in no way excusing how inconsistently they played all year, I'm just saying I really feel bad for them. Maybe they can use this as motivation in the off season to come back stronger next year.

i mean c9 is better tho they beat them twice in a best of 3, does that make c9 top 5?

Don't underestimate the power of C10 Snacky [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I agree with you that C9 is better. I feel like they are missing out on the knowledge and experience gained from being at worlds.

I felt bad, too. But they lost a couple series that did them in. Throughout most of this Season I've thought they'd NA's strongest contender at Worlds. Now they're not even going.

Sad to watch Turtle in the Legends series and knowing he's not going to be attending.

Hey Sotere, do you have any idea when the Esports team is going to release Riftwalk tickets for finals?

When I saw the Legends Rising series had Turtle, I cringed. I know they worked on season 2 since before the summer split, but you would think that they would have backup players that they filmed as well to make sure they had players attending Worlds in the series. I like watching Turtle's footage, but this just felt like it was made in bad taste.

The issue with Immortals is that they are so top lane centric and they really haven't found a way to consistently play around the rest of the map. Against C9, Impact was able to just absorb all of Huni and Reignover's pressure and open up the map for Meteos to get Jensen and Sneaky ahead.

hope you get to see them play in "worlds" soon then

I hope so. They did well enough during the season to have earned a spot. The experience gained at worlds is vital for them to stay competitive in the future.

With that said, I'll be rooting for NA. I love all three teams and it would be difficult for me to pick a favorite.

It was heartbreaking to find out that our resident choke artists were going to Worlds over IMT.

Like, really, TRULY heartbreaking.

I couldn't agree with you more.

I don't feel sorry for any team that does well during the regular season then disappears during the playoffs, especially if they're a superteam formed to get to Worlds.

Never felt sorry about any other professional sports team created for that purpose, either.

Honestly, I was hoping cloud 9 would best TSM for this very reason. I mean, yeah CLG isn't bad by any stretch, but immortals were clearly the superior team but CLG just had more league points

For me, IMT are a lot like Peyton Manning. Both are extremely good in the regular season but have a habit of choking hard in the playoffs. Sorta hoping the players move onto different teams, as they could very easily be suited to making other ones better/giving NA a real shot at worlds next year (or korea, if huni/reignover hopefully join skt).
