Match Making in Bronze is Broken!!!

Dear Riot.

I started playing your game 6 months ago when Hon started to phase out. Since reaching level 30, I started playing ranked and after my first 10 games, I was placed in Silver. I was extremely happy.

My first day playing Silver matches, I noticed I was losing all my games due to always one or two individuals on my team. At first I started blaming myself. I figured I wasn't warding enough or I didn't help gank enough etc.

Then I started looking at recently played players on my team and noticed something really strange. All the games I was losing were because of Bronze players on my team either feeding or being toxic or trolling. Ok, thats fine. They get bronze players and we get bronze players on our and it evens itself out right?

So you mean to tell me the game I've been playing for 6 months straight, probably 8 hours a day, I haven't improved one bit to climb? That's bs because I consider myself to be a decent player but it's impossible to climb out of bronze and frankly I'm getting sick and tired of it. I'm starting to blame myself less and less and starting to blame you the game company more and more for your lack of competence.

It's clear as daylight to me what your top priority is. It's coming out with new skins and champions, to rake in as much money from us as you can!! and believe me, I've given you my share of $$$$$$$$$$$$ the past 6 months. You want to know whats sad. I started a new account and played my 10 matches and was placed in GOLD. Same thing is happening in GOLD. Games I lose I notice silver troll players on my team. Okay so the solution is easy stop playing ranked and I did but explain to me this.

Why is it even on my ranked account, when I go into normal game mode to get a fun game. my team is infested with bronze players with 0 lp or level 29 players that can't even play ranked or have complete runes? Do you think its fair? Do you think that little of us that you are not willing to come up with a solution for people to get a decent game against others? Is that really to much to ask of you Riot? Whats funny is I talk to so many people on a daily basis that feel the same way.

You have managed to take a beautiful game and pardon my language crap all over it and your players. Thanks for listening. I really had to get it off my chest because it's been bothering me for a long time. I'm sure I'm going to get a ton of replies about how I suck and I'm not doing the things necessary to climb and that's fine. But you and I know what's really doing on don't we?

Silver mmr is the default for new accounts when entering ranked, the majority of new accounts get placed S5-S4 so that's not anything new. And all the past games you've placed have had a similar mmr average so.

Shiish, The honest to God best advice I can give to you is that you are just not very good at the game right now (I'm not either, but hey we're all trying to improve!). A couple of pointers:

  1. Whittle down your champion pool. You play A LOT of different champions, and it's very difficult to be effective on that many different champs with your experience level.

  2. Consider playing more norms after you lose a couple. You have played 725 ranked games in 3 months. That's a TON of games. Maybe consider trying new builds and champs in normals until you feel like you've gotten them mastered.

  3. Most importantly, YOU are the common denominator in all your games. Therefore, you are the reason you are losing (or winning) more than not. You can't win every game, but if you play consistently better than others you will win more than you lose. Don't blame the system, blame yourself and you will improve.

I agree that matchmaking is broken but not for the reason you stated.

Matchmaking is broken due to premades boosting. i've had several of my games ruined by people who were boosted to my ranked/mmr and don't actually know how to play on this level or had my games ruined by straight up boosters on the enemy team completely stomping my team.

Lower elo right now is made up of nothing but people being boosted and boosters getting paid to boost and riot doesn't seem to give two fucks of a shit about this issue.

Doesn't seem like they give a fuck about new player experience in ranked

"so yea they have a few 100k employees... AND ALL OF THEM WORK ON SKINS ALL THE TIME!!!" the fuck? no they dont you dumb kid. they have teams and every team works on something. so yea a bunch ALWAYS work on skins but the other teams ALWAYS work on improving patching etc
