Which Korean master race team is gonna win next worlds?

We all know SKT T1 is the best, still number 1 in LCK with a huge lead over any team in macro gameplay and shotcalling. So yeah, they are favorites.

But the thing for me is that behind them, like seriously Riot could not allow SKT to play in the next worlds and yet Korea would take home the trophy. Samsung Galaxy is doing incredible even defeating SKT last week 2-0 with Crown by times even looking more dominant that Faker (yeah i know it's hard to believe, but watch him play.....HOLY SHIT!).

Then you have teams like KT which IMO has a stacked incredible roster in every lane, tho they really need to work more in they macro gameplay and shot calling but still in time for that to get better.

Afreeca Freecs and MVP could easily be the #1 team in either NA or EU LCS without an issue, they are actually doing pretty well taking into account that they are playing in the highest level possible of LoL (yeah even higher that worlds). Specially Afree Freecs, they have 2 great players like their mid Kuro and the already champion of worlds Marin in top, with their ADC kramer who has showed up and keep getting better.

So which Korean master race team you think is gonna win?

I believe that if KT Rolster get their shit together they have a really great chance to defeat SKT. But still, wouldn't be easy task.

I personally think SKT is just going to keep winning championships until korea merges with america in the "trump wars of 2019". After that, we could potentially see NA actually win a world championship if only off the back of multiple koreans.

Honestly, I could take your whole "Korean master race" phrase and just flat out plug it into any team that has Koreans on them. But that wouldn't necessarily be fun. Why not just say Korean team and call it at that?

Just to discuss, to me that question is still up for doubtful mention for anyone not named SKT. Domestically they had the head start with their way to play well written for them. When teams had to fear facing them and outright expecting a loss against them was one thing. But like the C9 scenario, they're slowly being found out in where their weaknesses lie. The fortunate matter that keeps them afloat however is their flexibility in subs in the face of a single loss in general or even a confident win to throw open practice out of.

Now what I don't really like about this discussion is the fact that the rest of the teams mentioned sound way more over or underrated than they're pulling in a conversation of winning worlds already. Plus Samsung was left out. I live in the present. So this is what I think.

  • KT: Constantly exposed as of late. Doesn't matter if it's the best players at a given period of time to form what is considered a super team. They are far from looking like they even deserve that title. Smeb is playing somewhere between "Best" and "Loser," titles in which he's had in the past. I'm losing meaning in why people call Score one of the best junglers. And then there's the trio returned from China whom all have their fire in a bottle whenever it suits. Should it fail, they flail.

  • Afreeca: Consistently inconsistent. To say they could be a #1 team in NA or EU without a problem is such an insult to those top teams that would at least have to learn to adapt to them with time, even adapting before the split were to start. Example: LMQ. It's not like they just magically popped up at the start of week 1. And sure they rolled over teams but they soon got found out. But it's a different timeline. If you plug in and mold current form Afreeca (not paper form) to at least the NA league, they sure aren't #1. Your mentioned players: at least Kuro has made an identity for himself following being outright "backup" for ROX and Kramer has indeed looked stronger since his LMS days. But I'm far from giving Marin credit just because of his world champion status. Like the 3 players from KT, he has his bottle of fire but...what else? He was a world champion as a team but as an individual player he's not cutting that level anymore.

  • MVP: Probably the only case I'll back you up on aside from being a region comparison junkie. The only problem with that is they weren't even in the mention of top 5 powerhouse favorites or anything for that until they started winning with such synergy. Prior to split, they were written around relegation material if I recall some opinions saying. Most people slept on that team and their existent synergy, instead looking at the most recent play in Samsung and how they kept their team together. Before Samsung's now evident resurgence, I would have put MVP at #2 in the LCK right now with a good margin behind SKT but not an outright defeating gap.

In general, if expectations can be this wrong, I don't like the idea of asking this question so soon. But that's just me.

SKT- most likely going to repeat.

KT Rolster Right now KT are looking awful with the talent they have; which goes to show just because you have something great doesn't always mean it will be great. Hopefully KT looks better in the Summer which I think they will.

SSG I didn't think much of them heading into Worlds last year, I picked them to win Group D 1ST place but I would be lying if I said I knew they were going to be this good. Similar to Rox Tigers SSG are where I think they will build up a fairy tale to only get beat by SKT down the road either it's in the playoffs or at Worlds.

Afreeca/MVP and LZ all have good players somewhere on each team but the team themselves are just 50/50. 1 game they look great and in another they look awful. Need more time/practice with the players on the team to really see what they can actually do.
