NA needs to lose at least 1 spot for Worlds.
Honestly it should be 2 but it aint gonna happend cuz "Murican game!", i mean basicly NA is a wildcard region so might as well give the spots accordingly.

I have to agree. at least then we watch our teams have more realistic potential to play more at international venues. I no longer hold any pride for the LCS as we have been shown to be the joke region of the world. its beyond being a meme at this point. its a certainty until hell freezes over and a team actually shows it to be wrong. at least riot just glossed over us this year with minimal to no hype for the NA teams.
Why? Where would the lost spots go? Hopefuls of the LCL or VCS? Said no one ever. Extras for EU, CN, or KR? That's rewarding success and making failure further relevant despite variables LCS has compared to the regions above and below them. The major regions have never really been "punished" since inception so why start now?
This isn't like the LMS where the talent, performance, infrastructure, and community around it is collapsing at the seams. Things are bound to change just because of the fragile state the region is in. I wouldnt call that a punishment. Whereas NA: what all is it? Failure to perform?
That bring said, I disagree. Anyone insisting this be a action that needs to be done has already forfeited any support they have for NA teams and would rather hug to the negative history for as long as they deem their intetest into the scene. They just want to monopolize the world championships as "only the best can play here" and what would that do in opinion of NA if they still came up short? At this point those who have given up are never going to be satisfied without a decisive victory.

Team liquid beat IG soundly at MSI who were the world champions...
It was simply a bad year for NA... nothing more. It’s kinda like you are advocating for nfl teams or mls teams that go 2-14 that they need to leave the league because they can’t keep up. That’s not how it works.
It couldn't be clearer that NA doesn't merit the same seeds as other regions, and I would wholly support making NA a wild card region at this point just as a punitive measure to see if that jolts LCS into taking everything a lot more seriously. But, despite all their flaccidity, NA is nevertheless a lot stronger than the current wildcard regions. It would become impossible for teams from other regions to make it to groups. Maybe Rito should tell NA that they're out altogether until they turn into something that actually fits into the existing framework.
I think following distribution would make most sense:
LCK 4 LPL 3 EU 2 NA 1
Rest of the spots earned through play-ins.
