If you were an unproven player on a team with like of Reignover, Piglet and 2 "decent" players Lourlo and Matt; most people choose GG even if it is about only 15% his fault whenever he plays.
It's easier to blame 1 unproven than it is to say X player instead.
Most people will also say he's been in the League well over 3 years now just bouncing from team to team, and all the time hasn't done much of anything in either game, lane, pressure etc. More of a support type of player GG is similar to Pobelter but even Pob can actually do something in lane from time to time, where for GG he doesn't.
I will say for TL there seems to be 0 shotcalling as you pointed out and if I'm a gambling man I would say Reignover is the caller but when you can't camp a top 3 Western Player in the past 2 years at top like he had in the past 2015-2016(4 splits) the true Reignover tends to show up instead.
Lourlo is also pretty bland and "is" improving but too slow for any true LCS team, if he would be replaced and went to CS he would be better in time but for TL who's motivation is to actually be decent for once he's going to get swept under the rug in due time.
Matt seems really nice, chill but those things don't pay the LCS bill. Very similar to Lourlo he just doesn't seem to do anything, has an attitude like Dyrus but in game has the skills of Kiwikid.
Piglet makes the AD position a little tougher in NA but overall I wouldn't miss him if he leaves, been on TL for going on 3 years now and TL are much better without him than with him.
As well as the longer he stays in NA and doesn't do anything the worse it will be for him if he decides to go back to Korea. No team will take him too seriously; not with the way he seems to be now(doesn't care, unmotivated) as well as his Team Liquid results counting this split/regular split games - no playoffs/CS/promotional involved
49W - 61L TL with him 25W - 17L without him
Subbing out Piglet for Fabbyy, Jintai, Keith and other players seems to be in the right decision.
Not saying if Piglet gets sub out TL would win X games in a row but history tends to repeat itself as they do say.
- Overall I do agree it's not all GG's fault. TL should have known what type of player GG is and shouldn't have resigned him and instead let him go.
