Come on, this year C9 got Afreecas out in the quartefinals and G2 got RNG out (note that RNG had won everything this year and they were domintant in every event) and Fnatic took Edwards. They reached Worlds quartefinals and they got out of this tournament by a Western Team. Thas shows that West is improving, If that was last year the West teams would be disqualified by the quarterfinals so i think West as whole is imporving.

3 out of the 4 teams in semifinals were western teams.

I dont think there's much of a gap, really. Just IG by themselves are really good.
