Something random and funny I just realized
There are only two regions left participating at Worlds. After 3 games of the Quarterfinals.
EU vs Korea
And then we have WC, NA, Taiwan, and China sitting around doing nothing.

China couldn't make simply due to the language barriers, it's extremely hard to have a functional team of Korean and Chinese dudes working together, the Chinese teams thought you could buy Korean talent and build an amazing team like you do on soccer but e-sports don't work that way, and player affinity is super-important.
NA flunked their way out of worlds, they got overconfident, way too cocky, didn't prepare for the matches and lost LITERALLY EVERY WEEK 2 GAME, JESUS, EVEN THE GODDAMN IWC GAMES. That's because NA has the most media presence, so they had their "success" shoved in their faces all week long before the games, C9 took too much energy.
Taiwan actually put up one hell of a fight, but let's face it, AHQ drew the short stick (AHQ could have handily beaten OG or FNC, but they HAD to go against the ridiculous team) and FW, despite being mechanically superior to OG, flunked out in their decision making.
The only real surprise here is EU who's doing a FANTASTIC JOB, and while this worlds will clearly be for SKT, I'd already consider it a victory for the EU teams who have gone above and beyond expectations.
To be fair, FNC has 2 koreans.... I wouldnt even call them EU lel
Last year we had 2 Koreans and 2 chinese teams in the semfinals only.
I assumed Fnatic would be strong; they had a very convincing Summer split. OG ended really strong too, but I figured H2K would be the second strongest team from EU in Worlds. Korea is just Korea, they will always be the Yankees of LoL.
