The EU casters have not been paying any attention to the IWC

They saw Vlad + GP get locked in for Origen, and assumed that xPeke's champion pool being heavily focused in bans was why. However, earlier this week Detonation FocusMe and the Bangkok Titans played a match in IWC Turkey where DFM ran GP + Vlad, and, since Vlad's ult makes all damage to nearby champions spike. Combine that with Gangplank's barrels and you just blew up their entire team. You'd think that people paid to watch League and analyze League would know this stuff.

It is also true that Peke never used Vlad in summer playoffs despite using him a lot in Summer, preferring mainly Ahri, Azir and Varus, despite SoAZ using GP and probably knowing the interaction, so it is true that Vlad isn't actually a primary pick for Peke

Now i don't know what were the bans since I didn't saw the game, but the Vlad selection could pretty much be the back-up plan for Peke

They are 'EU' casters. They probably mainly focus on their region which is EU.

That isn't just an EU problem. Casters all over the place consistently miss how strong certain champions are globally because they aren't particularly prominent in their region.
