why isnt MSI playing patch 6.9?

Because hopefully they have learned not to have a tournament on a patch with massive changes to the game anymore. The last thing these teams needed after making it to MSI was to play on a completely different patch that just went live.

they usually let pros get used to new champs/fix a lot of the bugs first

because they don't wanna make the pros play in a meta that might be broken in theory. the pros won't have enough time to adapt to all the huge changes in the patch, and the patch itself might just bring a bunch of unbalanced factors that harms the competetiveness of pro plays.

just wondering

the tourny is invitational and the update got released pretty much in the middle of the tournament.

on a side note, we are watching a pre-patch game live We are learning still guys :) i love league
