My Prediction/Thoughts on C9 vs. DIG * r/leagueoflegends

The first match of the 2017 NA LCS Summer playoffs will be between Cloud 9 and Team Dignitas, I thought I would share which team I think will win and why. The winner of this match will advance to the semifinals and face Immortals on August 26th. I will first do an overview of each team and how they performed in the Summer Split. Cloud 9 finished off the Summer Split with a record of 12-6, landing themselves at 4th place. This was a bit of a worse split for Cloud 9 as in the Spring they finished with a record of 14-4. During the break between splits Cloud 9 did not make any roster moves, although during the Summer Split on June 25th explayer “loulex” joined as a positional coach. It is worth noting that during the split Cloud 9 attended Rift Rivals and finished with a record of 3-3.I think that Cloud 9 got all of the issues worked out, I think that this is going to be a good experience for Ray and Contractz as this is their second time in playoffs so they can have that under their belt (I am aware that Ray was on EDG when they won the 2015 LPL Summer Split, but the LPL and NALCS are two different places.). During this split Cloud 9 went 2-0 against Team Dignitas the two times they went up against each other on 6/25 and on 7/23, it is also worth noting that in the 2 times they have gone up against each other it has gone to 3 games, so it is always a close match between the two. I think that Cloud 9’s roster is better in nearly every role, I would say the top lane match up is the most interesting because Ssumday and Impact have been around for a while and both have played in the LCK on teams that are considered dynasties such as KT Rolster and SK Telecom T1(SKT T1). In my eyes the midlane matchup favors Jensen over Keane, there isn’t any competition I think that Jensen outsmarts and out skills Keane whenever the two face off. The jungle matchup between Contractz and Shrimp favors Contractz because he has been with Cloud 9 now for both splits and knows the team and their playstyles, as where Shrimp has only been here for the Summer split, it's not a big thing but I just think that Contractz will have the upperhand. The Botlane is in favor of Cloud 9 because I think that Sneaky has everything over Altec and LOD, he has experience over them and the synergy he shares with Smoothie is a key ingredient to their lanes success. Team Dignitas finished off the Summer Split with a record of 11-7 landing themselves in 5th place. This is a step up for the team as in the Spring Split they finished off with a record of 9-9. During the break in between splits Team Dignitas made some moves by welcoming back Saintvicious from TL as a coach, Big joins as a support and Shrimp came back from the LJL as a Jungler. Then during the beginning of the Summer Split Xpecial leaves for P1, Altec and Adrian join for the roles of ADC and Support, and in July Chaser left the team. I think it was a bit of a shake up with the roster but I think as the split went on they settled in. This is without mentioning that they had a good start to the split winning 3 games before dropping one to TL. At the midway point through the split they had a record of 5-5. One of the strengths I think Dignitas had was that they would always be underestimated but as the weeks went on I think everyone would really study every movement by Dignitas. I think the best player on Dignitas is Ssumday up in the toplane, He has proven himself to be one of the best top laners in North America, taking towers from giants like Hauntzer, Impact/Ray, and Darshaun. He has had the most experience on the team in my opinion as he had played in the LCK for over 3 years on one of the best teams in the LCK. I would say he’s the shining star on Dignitas. By no means am I saying that all the other members of Dignitas suck, I’m just saying he is better. To close this post off I will give a TLDR of it, I think that Cloud 9 will win against Team Dignitas, as they have better players in nearly every role. (I’m not trash talking Team Dignitas in this post, I’m just giving my honest opinion. I think they are all good players.) All stats and information I used for this was from https://lol.gamepedia.com/League_of_Legends_Wiki Who do you have winning and why? Leave any feedback down below and Thanks for reading

No wonder why C9 had an off split and had a "meh" RR performance, they had Loulex as a sub coach. - Joking This is what people call a "pick em" in a sense because it's very close between the players and how both teams struggled during the split, mainly C9 for the first half but picked up steam in the second half and DIG started hot but slowed down near the middle/end of the split.
I see this being a 3-1 Cloud 9 victory, being similar to the match up between C9 and NV 2016 Summer Playoffs. I think 1 game will be a 50 min ground n pound Memphis Grizzlies type of game and the 3 other games being fast paced 20-25 min stumps. DIG's a very fast paced team as is and so is C9 for that matter. I just see C9's experience of actually being together longer being the result of such victory.
The ol' camp Dig's Ssumday may not be 100% accurate to win games but it is true to some degree. That was something of DIG's problems in the past, Ssumday would farm for an hour and the 4 other DIG players would be doing nothing on the opposite side, teams fight 5v4 and DIG would lose games. The arrival of Adrian has helped DIG greatly but he can be picked/banned fairly easily with such bans to healers and far away casters.
Most of the DIG players are also no strangers to quick 1st round or first match up playoff eliminations; Keane has been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs 3 for 3 in his career and Adrian is no real stranger in such category either, hell, DIG as a team in previous years and overall tends to just fall apart as they're always eliminated quick and painless in the playoffs.
