cant find discussion view button

this is probably a dumb question but in a few of my recent discussions they've defaulted to chronological view instead of discussion view and i cant seem to find the button that is usually under the main post that allows switching between the views. Is there something i did/didn't do that made my post only chronological view or am i just missing the button?

Depending on the sub-forum you're in you won't get that option. For example, General Discussion (or GD as it's commonly referred to as) is Chronological View only.
