How to Limit The Circlejerking and Sheeping on The League of Legends Forums

We all have seen those 'cancer' posts with 0 arguments and nonsense. Or those upvote/karma farming posts. Here is my suggestion to get rid of this plague.

Bring GD to main page. This where you make your garbage 5 seconds salt garbage posts and rage threads. No politics in this section anymore.

Gameplay is now like r/competitivehs. https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveHS/

Look at this. How clean it is. How only good and informative posts are there. This is what gameplay is going to become. Gameplay posts are now strict- They either are here to talk about actually playing the game and how to improve at it. Balance posts are now required to state facts and statistics and at least 2 arguments.

For example;

<Title> Pantheon is Overpowered right now, here are suggestions to fix him. </title> <Body> Hello, today I will bring up 2 arguments proving why pantheon deserves nerfs and then suggest what to nerf.

<Argument 1> Pantheon has a staggering high winrate, here are my sources: http://lolalytics.com/champion/Pantheon/ http://champion.gg/champion/Pantheon/Top http://www.op.gg/champion/pantheon/statistics/top

Looking at the OP gg chart for matchup winrates, we can see that he loses no lane very hard, even the worst one is swain with a 48.79% winrate which isn't terrible neither. He also has a high pickrate, so it is not just quality pantheon players playing the champion. His banrate is rising too. Even his supposedly terrible lategame now only has a 50% winrate, and you have far worse. Even lee sin has 48% winrate lategame. Pantheon's pre25 minutes winrate is the best in the toplane roster.

<Argument 2> The reasons as to why Pantheon is so strong excluding winrates includes-

  1. He does well against all meta (best) toplaners.
  2. Right now we are in an early game meta where pantheon thrives. His lane phase is extremely powerful, and he is table to bypass TP and still apply map pressure thanks to his ult.

<Solution> Nerf his mana pool or increase his costs to increase his mana problem weakness- make it easier to capitalize.

Note that this is just an example, not actual arguments. This is also an example of how a post should be formatted- it is clear and gets straight to the point. There is very little to no bias, and no salt/subjective feelings. Some of these arguments aren't complete obviously; because this is meant to be a mere example.

And this I suggest to approach the gameplay's low quality post plague. I will now address how to deal with the downvote abuse.

1). Make a message whenever you downvoting stating that the use is not to disagree- when used to disagree, this is how sheep is created. Instead, use it to knock off offtopic posts or ones containing obvious errors (Post stating Yasuo still regenerates flow from his E for example).

2). Either limit the amount of downvtes you can give a day (To make people think twice before downvoting) or make it show who downvoted who. I think option 1 is better, because option 2 may lead to toxicity. Which is not needed when it already plagues the forums.

And this is how I suggest approaching and fixing the circlejerk issue around here- so Riot can see the actual good posts and get ideas instead of frontpage being plagued with mindless bitching. Thank you for reading.

You specifically rage about Karma players when the problem is players like you. I can sit here and name everything wrong with Karma and go into numbers. Players like you will downvote it regardless. Players that don't actually care about the champion will downvote any Karma related thread. Perfect example is when someone came into a thread and talked about Akali when the thread was about Karma. Players don't care and especially new players and competitive oriented players. They don't care about the champion. They care about what is being abused and who they like. Every comment and thread is about Ryze or Lablanc now. For four years Karma mains have been ignored and nothing we do is acknowledged. Maybe care about other people's champions instead of yours. I care about all champions but Ryze and I comment fairly often about them. You are the problem. Not us. Encourage others and add to a conversation instead of creating a thread that attacks specific fans of a champion.
