Riot censorship shows obvious anti-western/historical-revisionist bias...

Riot moderatorship just selectively deleted half of an entire discussion, while leaving the other half. They constantly demonstrate that they are willing to selectively enforce rules according to their own biases. Someone falsely claiming that the USA is actively genociding Kurds while and also trying to downplay China genociding Uyghurs had their post left alone, despite their post being highly downvoted and clearly spreading lies. Yet all of the posts responding to that person to argue against their claims were deleted. This sends a clear message that you are allowed to discuss political topics only if your stance is anti-western.

The post below and many others from various posters were deleted, while claims that the USA is actively genociding (and that is truly the term that was used) the Kurds were left in the thread. Anti-western historical revisionism is allowed, citing the actual historical facts to argue against it is not allowed. Anti-western propaganda and poorly 'pro-western' strawmen are allowed.

It simply got missed in the first cleaning. I was on my way to dinner with friends.

It's worth noting, however, that the post you referenced didn't show up in the queue until I reported it myself - which means that no one had reported it prior. Next time, please feel free to report things you think are inappropriate, as that's the best way to bring them to our attention.

EDIT: we're not going to have a political discussion here, either.

It's not on me to report people for breaking a rule that I don't agree with.

If you're not going to do your part, you don't get to complain when something gets missed. We're not perfect. We will miss things from time to time. When we do, we correct it as quickly as we are able.

This is disgusting. Riot left your (highly downvoted) comment that is blatantly misrepresenting facts and deleted my (highly upvoted) reply that cited both modern and historical events to explain why you are wrong. Riot moderation showing bias once again by selectively silencing half of a discussion.

Maybe I wasn't clear. We don't give a crap about the position being taken (I've removed plenty of things I've agreed with). We don't care if it's upvoted (argumentum ad populum being a thing). We care if a specific post meets the guidelines. End of story.

Just to chime in here, there is a very, very simple reason we remove political discussions on the Boards, and it has nothing to do with any kind of bias for or against any political position on our part.

Political discussions here nearly always devolve into bitter, furious fights here with no possibility of resolution - and very little in the way of tangible effect on the issues they're trying to bring change to in the first place.

This is our experience more or less no matter what the political issue at hand is. When we allow political debate to remain on the Boards, our moderation queue skyrockets and becomes an unmanageable mess, and lots of people who ordinarily wouldn't get in trouble at all end up getting drawn into bitter terrible fights and say bitter terrible things and then get punished for it and bad feeling rules the day - and League itself doesn't get the attention it deserves. It most definitely doesn't have anything to do with the notion that the moderation team is somehow in the tank for the CCP .

It's a simple case of "this is not the venue", not some kind of grand conspiracy on our part to shore up repression. Freedom fighting is a wonderful thing, and you're more than welcome to engage in political activism of whatever kind you feel is necessary - outside of these Boards, in venues that are appropriate to political activism. I have spent quite a number of years as a political activist myself - in other and more appropriate venues. I don't bring it here, because that's what Boards policy is - and I understand why that is and I respect it.

The Boards are for League. They're not for anything else.

Or, as Ula already said:

If you want to change minds or, even better, change the world, please do so. Just do it elsewhere.
