This got me a 1 week ban for "attacking another player". Who exactly was attacked? The theoretical Jarvan IV players that were presented in the hypothetical situation? The hypothetical Shaco players who "Max Q for damage" Seriously, what is up with these moderators and their vulgar abuse of power?

The Djinn already gave a pretty good response, and he pretty much nailed how I was feeling about it. I thought you'd probably want to hear from me, though, so here I am!

Additionally, all caps laughing at other players is not something that I'm ever going to consider part of respectful discussion.

From the Universal Rules:

The Golden Rule

Always be respectful to players, community members, moderators, and Rioters. Harassment and insults will not be tolerated (“just playing” is NOT a catch-all excuse).

So that's my justification (along with that account's history of similar behavior) for the ban.

You can click on any thread, and find something that YOU won't consider respectful, but laughing at the incorrect statements of other players is your biggest priority?

Same level of respect as everyone else on the boards? Yes. Same level of respect as a high class charity event? No.

You're not the high court judge, you're a Warden for a game with a reputation for being toxic. You can't apply the same rules here as you would elsewhere.

It's like a police officer walking through the slums, watching people pissing in the street and brawling on each corner, then arresting someone for littering.

EDIT: It's also worth noting that truth and respectful are not always going to go hand in hand. It might seem disrespectful to say that someone is acting a fool, but if they are acting a fool then no harm is done. It seems as though you are trying to cut out half the english language just because someone, somewhere may find it disrespectful.

Yeah, I'm really not a fan of Kempyrean Pirate either. He gave me a 1 day forum ban a while back saying something like "Its clear from previous punishments a warning wont suffice" and when i go to look at my previous warnings, they are 2 months old. The guy has a very short fuse and is not very intelligent in my opinion.

I'm legitimately sorry you feel that way. I completely understand why it seems like I have a short fuse. I think that people should be free on the forums to talk without having to worry about being bullied or harassed, and I make no apologies about using timed bans to make sure everyone else understands that. The forums have pretty clear rules, imo, and I do what I can to make sure those are followed.

If you'd like to talk about your specific case, you're welcome to open your own thread or come to the discord. We're always open to feedback, even if we don't agree! Please don't feel like any one action is an attempt by us to shut down the conversation; and if you'd like to talk to someone else about my actions, you can do that, too. There are other Wardens and Heralds that would be happy to talk to you about that, I'm sure.

You banned me for saying "You know how I know you're silver?" I really don't need to discuss it any further than that. You claimed I was "ELO shaming" or something ridiculous like that. I would love to know what you think is wrong with saying that someone who is silver, is infact silver? At no time did I say that there was anything wrong with being silver or provide any kind of insult or reason for a time ban, but hey, whatever bud. You keep on trucking big boy.

Don't play dumb. People often make negative claims and implications about the lower ranks. This is why it's wrong to call another player's rank into question while debating with them.

In the context of the thread, it was obviously intended to teach the guy how he is making a mistake. If I go out with some friends, and I state that I am Silver elo. There is nothing derogatory about that. Just as there is nothing wrong what someone's rank is unless you then go on to belittle people in that rank, or that person specifically. What you don't seem to understand, is that simply saying a silver player is silver is not the same thing as being derogatory about it. If I had said something along the lines of "haha silver players can't figure anything out" that would be different. I know it might be hard for someone like you to comprehend, but there is a difference, and it is a distinct one.

example A: This apple is an apple.

example B: This apple is dumb. Apples are dumb and should be mocked.

The fact remains, the majority of the time that someone talks that way here on the forums, they are doing it to put somebody else down or dismiss them in an argument.

Oh, so you mean instead of actually having proof of it "Walking like a duck" or "Quacking like a duck" you just assume its a duck anyway because you require zero evidence to make baseless accusations and defend an utterly crap forum ban. Also, It really doesn't even matter at this point if I link the thread or not, since you have just admitted that you have no clue what was even said while at the same time pretending you KNEW that I was being derogatory. In the end, all that matters is that you were willing to accept that I had been, simply because you wanted to, and not because of any evidence or proof.
