I made a comment about crossdressing. This was removed and i was issued a warning for violating the board rules.

Are you saying acknowledging crossdressers as people is against the rules? We're supposed to pretend they dont exist, or act like they're not people?

I know Tencent owns Riot, but seriously? Suddenly the boards follow chinese law?

You weren't just "referencing cross-dressing." There's nothing wrong with talking about cross-dressing as long as you're not using it to mock someone/something.

Which you were. To quote your comment:

Jinx is female? I thought for sure it was a transvestite.

Taking a character known and announced and identified as female and referring to that character as "it" and calling "it" a transvestite isn't something we need around here.

I was one of the people who helped review your post, so maybe I can provide some clarification. The comment that was removed was:

Jinx is female? I thought for sure it was a transvestite.

The thing that made this unacceptable was the dehumanizing quality of the language. You referred to someone as "it" simply because they do not conform to your expectations of "how a woman should look". While this was in reference to a character in the game, it's also the sort of thing that makes other people feel unwelcome.

I think it is really how you go about the situation. Referring to people, or even characters as It (unless the clown/movie [fuck you Shaco ], technically genderless [sorry Blitzcrank ], or Mangled from FNAF series) is kind of a dick move.

Had you gone instead: "Jinx is female? I thought for sure she had a rocket in her pocket." (Yes I know that is a Tristant line, but Jinx has Fishbones and therefore acceptable.) Or even: "Jinx is female? I thought fornsure she was a transvestite."

Using "it" doesn't make it funny.

These moderators really need to do their jobs properly.

  • First, stop pretending to be oversensitive (I literally had a comment removed and a warning for calling someone a "stinky poo")
  • Second, reading the context instead of ctrl + F and looking for anything saying fuck or shit or gay
  • Third, stop removing threads just because they don't like them, behind the "not enough detailled" excuse

Umm yes this game is owned by china, but china has no issues with cross-dressers its actually apart of their culture i'm guessing its because the reference my be subject to trolling and making fun of a group of people. But i personally don't see anything wrong with referring to cross-dressers.
