They or them? Okay. I'm not a native English speaker, and my language (Norwegian) has a couple words that are translated oddly.
As the comment was intended as a joke (a common joke in my language, but apparently extremely offensive in English) it was supposed to imply Jinx might (and this is important, MIGHT) just appear to be a "she". The term "trap" has recently become very popular on the internet, so it was intended to imply Jinx may simply be a very effeminate male, or perhaps a crossdresser.
Sure, it's a tasteless joke - but it was still supposed to be a joke. I'm having a hard time adapting to a humorless life where everything you say has to be neutral and flavorless lest you bring the wrath of the authorities down on your head. Life is not this strict, and the internet didn't use to be either.

It was directly related to context. It’s not like i go around looking for opportunities to make jokes about transvestites - my father is homosexual and i am transgender myself, i am very well aquainted with the... i do not know the english term used to categorize non-heterosexuals.
Either way i understand nobody can tell that from my summoner name. Here i am just a name and portrait, and i’m sorry for forgetting nobody can tell i made a joke i normally get away with because i am part of the group being joked about.
I’ll try to be more mindful of how i appear to others in the future...

The thing that made this unacceptable was the dehumanizing quality of the language. You referred to someone as "it" simply because they do not conform to your expectations of "how a woman should look". While this was in reference to a character in the game, it's also the sort of thing that makes other people feel unwelcome.

That's a good example. Unfortunately i didn't think of it.
The reason i used "it" is because some crossdressers (and trans people) become mortally offended if you use the wrong pronoun. In my country people do not get mad, but they do get hurt. I've grown accustomed to using a neutral pronoun until i'm certain what a person with uncertain gender prefers - unfortunately this term does not translate well into English (comes across as de-humanization rather than simply being genderless) and it came across as something much more offensive than was intended.
An attempt to be tolerant backfired on me, as i was talking about a character and not a person.
It's pretty depressing i have to write an article to defend a faulty joke these days. But i'll still do it - i meant no harm, it came across wrong for a multitude of reasons. I'm happy as long as the moderators allow me to explain what went wrong, instead of just kicking me out and branding me villain.

I’ll remember to use «they» in the future.
For reference, the sentence in Norwegian would be «Jeg trodde det var» which translates directly to «i thought it was». «It» was never pointed at jinx as a person - it was meant to be pointed at the term transvestite, but was lost in translation. And i didn’t know better.
The other non-mod users are very hostile, so i appreciate you being friendly and using humour to de-escalate this thing. It put me at ease.

For the record, i said «transvestite» - not transgender. A transvestite used to be a different word for crossdresser, but fell out of use as «transgender» became common, because the «trans» thing made them confusing to differentiate.
Or perhaps that’s only in my culture. Norwegian and American culture is very, very different.
