I wish I could enjoy the boards

But unfortunately toxic posts gain a lot of traction rather than downvotes. Truth be told they inevitably are shut down but true posts or posts countering the meta opinion of the boards respectfully never get raised despite offering more discussion.

People talk about others behind their back Players going to Reddit now instead of the boards The entire Riot fiasco with Boards vs Reddit attention Emotional posts getting condemned by people who feel it's cool to do so

> People who always somehow manage to bring rank into every one of their discussions

In all honesty, Gameplay has recently made me tired out of all the sections on the Boards. Due to the environment, it's just so much better to view other sections and ignore Gameplay in total recently. Rather than hot, new has much better suggestions that fade away. They're still nice to see.

I though Patch 8.4 was a new step forward with the amount of positivity on how good the patch was. But there's always a huge exploitation of someone's rage or dislike to excuse worse discussions, changes of topics, or completely negative threads.

This brings me to my main point. I feel the NA boards needs a large-scale community event to help strengthen the community. I feel if there was a focus on events, there could be increased positivity. I haven't seen much on the boards and I've heard Garena having many. I'm sketching ideas and I'll be trying to output these next week.

I hope the moderation team/volunteers will be available to ship this out as this is a large-scaled hope, but I feel it's becoming a necessity slowly.

Thoughts?

It's so funny because had I seen this post a few months ago I wouldn't have cared. Got my first job about 6 months ago and I could really start to see riot's side of the boards. Customers can complain a lot, sometimes it's fine, other times it's a complete meltdown full of screaming and yelling. The difference between here and my actual workplace is people are praised on here for whining and sometimes straight spreading wrong information.

Just so you know, I'm definitely interested. There are limits to what we can and can't feasibly do, but I'd love to see your ideas. :)

The boards is a huge waste of time for me tbh. There is rarely any good discourse and everything just quickly devolves into name calling or rank shaming. This place has a huge hate boner for Riot Games and will do anything to justify it.

I think the reddit forums is much more positive overall. The salt levels on the boards seems much higher

Honestly, my problem with the boards is no one is willing to listen. I see so many guys go hard on their OPINION (yeah, not a fact), even when disproven with FACTS, then they keep going. I check their division and guess what? Silver division 95% of the time, with some occasional bronze.

Seriously, if you are low elo and someone higher up gives you advice, try to listen. They are high and you are low for a reason.

You can say that again.

It's just people being people on a forum. This is true for every forum, and should be considered the norm.

Forums are open places where you can everyone expresses their opinion equally (supposedly).

So when you express your opinion, there's no real way for you to "shut down" their opinion without the original person admitting they're wrong.

End result is just people talking loudly but not listening, and trying to find any way to validate their own opinion while shutting down dissenters.

System of equality results in entitlement
